Business As Usual?

I was talking to an ex-SP, who still has friends in the business. Two are indies, and one works at a MP.

She said they've told her business is pretty much back to normal. Rates didn't decline, the small loss of business was made up by new on-line services.

The MP is doing extra cleaning, but the one the girl works at doesn't require masks.

The two indies said some guys arrive with masks, but none will wear one during a session, even if asked (Am I the only one who wears a mask during a session?).

Both said they aren't doing much more in the way of sanitization than requiring a shower, and changing sheets and towels.

All report fewer requests for DFK, and all were happier about it, but requests for BB still are asked regularly.

Easy to see why Covid isn't taken seriously

Doesn't make sense with the economy in the shitter.
Same with real estate, most including the CHMC predicted big declines but with very low interest rates prices keep going up.

Well over 1000 freedom / mask less protesters rallied in front of Vancouver's art gallery yesterday ( Saturday ) and apparently Sunday it is continuing.
Business as usual in that retrospect as well.

Had to laugh at the Instant Karma dealt out to those anti-masking protesting morons who were disrupting BC Ferry traffic yesterday at Horseshoe Bay. I guess they were harassing passengers who were wearing masks, mandatory by the way, and security descended upon them like shit on a blanket. When the ferry docked the asshats were banned from riding back so were stranded in Nanaimo. Kudos for BC Ferrys for doing that. More is needed but then there is no limit to people's stupidity it seems.

Well, I have to admit the rising cases in BC are forcing me to sit out things again.
Same in Manitoba...back in to hiding I go lol.....this pandemic thing has me thinking I'm not the lone wolf I once thought I was!!

In Manitoba and have been on the shelf since Feb and will be for the rest of 2020 and likely a good chunk of 2021.
I'm older so the ultimate result might see me aging out of the game any way. #firstworldproblems

Contact tracing issues could make for some interesting calls

Update from my indie providers. They say the spike in cases has really affected business now.

Not only is business way down, but they are getting more calls from abusive "asshole" clients who all seem to think because the women are deperate, it's time to start bargaining and demanding extra services. She said they all seem to be the most immature of those in the 20-25 range, and many won't wear masks, or think the SP is "stoopit" for trying to stay safe.

Besides the lack of business, they said this added stress of dealing with that element is worse than the lack of business.

If savvy, experienced women are dealing with this, I can only imagine what inexperienced providers are possibly being coerced into doing.

I have been on the sidelines since March. In Victoria, prices went up when the industry re-opened (based on LL and agency listings) reflecting fewer clients accepted and possibly hazard pay mixed in. I haven't sensed desperation leading to greater risks but it could certainly be going on. Haven't seen a lot of changes in ads resulting from recent uptick in cases. As much as I would like to participate, not happening until I have had a vaccine and the "scientists" say it is safe. Just not that important to me to hobby.
