Question for the techies.

I can convert an MP3 to a wav file and am able to play it on a CD player without much problem. What I do have a problem with is that the converted wav files are not 'tagged' and hence it's a pain to find stuff etc.

Do any of you have a solution to this problem?

Jim, most recent CD burning software will convert MP3s to Red Audio Book (Music CD standard) when you tell them to burn a music CD. Now if you are having problems reading these discs it could be that the CD player in your car has problems reading burned media.

I have encountered a few of these, but there isnt anything that you can do about it.

What hitrack meant is that CD players can read wave files, music needs to be converted to music CD format before it can be recognized by the CD player.

The only info wave files contain is through the RIFF format and that is only bit rate, you can't edit a wave like a MP3, they have no "ID3 TAG INFO, or like a Windows WMA file.

Are you sure your car stereo doesn't play WMA, because I have never heard on any home or car CD player that plays wave files.

If you have to convert your MP3z to waves in order to burn an audio CD you should update your burning software since the latest version of NERO eliminated that lame (LOL no pun intended) hassle a long time ago.

I have no trouble playing the burned CDs, it's just that when I play them using Windows Media Player or look at them in my music folder the 'tag' info which in a wav file I believe is referred to as metafile is not displayed. Not a biggie but was curious.

ya Windows Media Player can be more picky. Had success with WinAmp identifying audio titles that WMP didn't.
