Burner App?

I was looking at some sp advertisements and some state no burner App or text apps allowed...how do they know it's a text app out of curiosity?

Not sure TBh, but I’m guessing they use a site like this one which freely provides the carrier name of a phone number.

The SP is using a burner app most likely. Certain apps give clues in the details when communicating with other burner apps.

Most of the apps add a signature to the text message: "Sent via acme texting app."

I know with textnow you can go into settings and turn off the signature.

just used it with my own number, it's asking for money....

I guess the mere fact it's saying it's from an actual phone is good enough for them?

It freely provides the carrier information. Just tried on my real phone and app. Worked for an American number in my call history too, but gave no info for a Mexican one. 3/3 it gave the correct provider info. This is what shows for my app whereas my cell comes up as “mobile”and “Rogers.”

I just invented a burner app called Poontango. If you get a message with “sent by Poontango”, I recommend you delete the message. Nothing good can come from Poontango; unless you choose to live dangerously.
