The beautiful Fraser Valley !
Watched an interesting Documentary on Netflix , about Burlesque .
https://www.netflix.com/ca/title/80173267

Definitely, changed my perception, of what Burlesque was in broader Terms ?
Not at all, what I perceived Burlesque, to reflect ?

After reading this Article, all be it, from a British Male's perspective ?

I'm kind of curious about, who Burlesque appeals to these Days ?

Comedic Theatre or Sexy Art Form ?

Cheers

So, in burlesque, there are two main styles or philosophies: classic and neo. Classic features boas, fans and diamonds, these are your leggy beauties and folks you'd describe as jewels.

Neo burlesque can range from classic to comedy, with some notable groups as The Screaming Chickens and Geekenders, boyh in Vancouver.

Burlesque appeals to many for many reasons, it can be sexy, elegant, beautiful, hysterical, silly, angry, and/or passionate, etc. That's the fun of it, it knows no limits.

These days, we've got spunky queers, boys, gender benders, and all manner of spectrum performers doing amazing and unique work. It's an art form that embraces and encourages performers to express themselves as honestly as they want to.

League of Exotic Dancers was a fantastic documentary, and we have had the very same Camille 2000 perform on our stages, just a few months ago. It's a candid memoir of burlesque's most influential performers over the last few decades.

As well, Vancouver hosts a brilliant group of indigenous ladies breaking down sociopolitical issues both in their own community as well as on a global scale.

Dance is powerful, our bodies are capable of amazing things when it comes to bringing us together.

And who doesn't love to see a pretty person dancing their heart out?

PS. They also have great senses of humor. One of my favorite tank tops is my Tits & Tacos shirt :3
