I am sure there is an obvious place where a user like myself should have found this out. I just can't find it, so I'll ask.

What does "bump" mean? Does that mean go to a PM? I would love to understand. thank you.

It’s used to bring a question to the top that has gone unanswered. Also used when someone is selling an item on most other forums. Sometimes SP’s will bump their ads to the top.

So when somebody responds to a post with just the word "bump", that means get back to the question? Doesn't seem to work most of the time. Not sure I understand.

It will make sense more if you are browsing PERB in particular ways. Most of use are reading “New Posts” so it brings a thread back into our view.

It brings it back to “New posts” yes. So the hope is that ir will remind someone or they might have fresh info to add
