"retroactively rewrite Canada's access to information law"

this just in... the government has also amended bill C36 to make it effective from the date that steven harper was elected leader of the progressive conservative party.

The fact that they (and I mean ALL stripes of politicians) bury important things like this in a budget really pisses me off. It is a greasy, slimy, underhanded way of making changes. C-36 and C-51 were all done very publicly as they were presented as something that would benefit Canadians; this only protects a small group of people who should be held to a higher standard in the first place.

The Tories have pushed the envelope far beyond anyone else.
They love gigantic incomprehensible omnibus bills.

There are lies of commission and lies of omission. These omnibus bills are lies of obfuscation. Sure the truth is out there but it is buried under a ton of bs.
