BROzilian vs Shaving/Manscaping

I couldn't find any recent posts on this topic, but I'm curious to see feedback from other guys or providers on their preferences.

I've talked to some providers that have expressed that aside from overall hygiene, being well kept down there is a big deal and will allow for a better BJ. I've always tried to groom regularly for my girlfriends and have continued to do so out of habit.

Until a few months ago, i was just using grooming clippers to trim and ever so often would use a razor to get the family jewels all nice and smooth. But whenever i used a razor, i would think i'm just one slip away from losing a testicle, lol. Late last year I decided to try sugaring and had all the hair removed down there. It looked odd to me being so bare and looking like a prepubescent teen, but none of the providers said anything and I was getting really good attention down there.

For the guys on here, what are you doing?

1)Manscaped / Clippers
2) Waxing / sugaring
3) Growing a chia pet

For the ladies, what do you prefer and what do you see most often?

Currently using an electric beard trimmer with the shortest guard to mow things as short as possible (The manscaped Lawn mower is an alternative) and then a Braun Foil shaver to get the cock and balls nice and smooth. When I first started using a foil to finish off I did get a nick now and then, but now that I'm used to it it's a great alternative to a razor or wax.

Summary point - keep it clean and trim, but if you're not afraid can shave it all the way if you want to look like you're 16 again 😉

I prefer it clean and smooth for hygienic reasons but I've tried trimming it down to the lowest setting on a mens grooming machine similar to manscraper / facial grooming kits.

I've researched this topic many times online browsing through surveys etc and the main response is whatever feels best to you. but the break down came to about approx [ 15-20% smooth bare, 65-80% trimmed, and 15-20% dont care full jungle if you want ]

[ think of a lion without it's mane - kind of feels lacking like missing a crown ]

I prefer to keep it smooth and clean but never tried waxing / sugaring. [ would consider laser to save time and effort but that's just a thought ]

I definitely fall under the 15-20% full bare preference for myself. I usually shave everytime before a session and use either a razor and lots of shaving cream or my Phillips shaver/trimmer combo thats been reviewed a lot online and highly rated for shaving pubes.

I have been thinking of laser but not sure where to start. What are some good local stores that offer laser treatment for male privates. If someone here has experience or has tried this, I would really appreciate some recommendations and would like to know your thoughts too

I prefer numero uno. You're a man, you need some hair below, lol. Some think when I say trimmed below it means take everything off, but that's definitely not what I mean. (To all my bare clients, it's all good, do what you like best.🙃)
I will add, for myself I love being bare as fụck, I just use a razor because I shave everyday and I have no issues getting everything and no razor burn or irritation. I'm to scared to wax and kinda scared that sugaring will hurt too, lol, and I dont want to get ingrown hairs. And I just love being super smooth all the time, and not wait for my hair to grow any length just so I can wax it off.

Edit: Most often I see a mix between bare or to much pubes.... also men if your shaft grows hair, please cut that stuff off! From every lady in existence.

Thanks for sharing Lynn. I love the feeling when a woman is super smooth. I find if i'm exploring all around with my tongue, it makes the experience so much better. so on the receiving end, i figure that being all bare would welcome better foreplay. that being said, it does look odd to me still when i'm all bare

i always wondered about shaft hair. i'm glad you commented about that. that's also why i opted to try sugaring. i get nervous shaving around the shaft if i'm not fully erect

in the summer, i keep it trim cause it's so easy to get sweaty down there if you're active. i wonder if Manscaped is actually better than an average grooming kit. their marketing is well done, but i feel the product is overpriced.

It is over priced and doesnt get reviewed high enough...

This has been a topic in my own head for years even before I found this board hence the research and if I'm the odd one out.

There are better reviewed grooming kits. and I can post suggestions from the links I saved on recommendations.

I find when I full shave, the sweat is less compared to trimming hence why I preferred full smooth, but it does look bare until you're used to it. Plus if the area doesnt see much sun, then you see an awkward patch of whiter skin as opposed to regularly getting it done.

Sometimes I just want to shave my hairy legs / thighs cuz when the hair gets caught its sooo itchy 😠

I’d say it‘s over priced. There really is no difference between it and a beard / hair trimmer at half the price or less, and the trimmer usually comes with many more attachments. The one upside of the Lawn Mower is the little LED light, very useful. How their slick marketing department hasn’t come up with the trademarked name “HeadLamp” is a mystery.

I tend to see the same SP regularly, one in 2019 exclusively and then a different one starting a year ago. I asked what they wanted and they both said shaved. So I asked them to shave me. That’s the way to go! I was asked to shave one of them in return, which was very hot. But I think only a regular could ask for that sort of thing.

Btw personally speaking for electric shaver I would recommend this. I picked it up for $40ish on sale and its been amazing. Gives you the bare look as its a foil shaver which regular trimmers won't do.

I carefully use an electric epilator once or twice a week on my scrotum.


It has a rotating head that basically rips the hairs out at the root. It can occasionally cause minor bleeding so I stop using it a few days before I plan on seeing a service provider. I also use it on my abdomen to keep my tummy smooth and hairless. I have a bit of chest hair but I leave that because it looks macho.

The night before I visit a lady I slowly shave my balls with a double or triple blade disposable razor, careful not to nick or cut.

I also keep tweezers handy in the bathroom to pluck any stray pubes that I may notice when going for a pee or taking a shower.

Not a lot of time really. I don’t do everything all at once, just a few minutes here and there whenever it is convenient. Maybe 15 or 20 minutes in total every week.

Got my gillette out last night and shaved slowly and safely!! Enjoyed doing it but i'd prefer to ask someone to do it for me!!

I get waxed every so often but I'm interested to learn more about laser treatment.

Had some minor success with hair removal cream. The downside is leaving the cream on and waiting a bit before wiping it off. It definitely leaves you very smooth.

Also, it works better if the hair growth is minor for the cream to work easier. So if you're starting off with a bit of a bush, best to trim it down.
