Brock Boeser, are we seeing here the take over a team’s identity in just over a month in The League... is he the next Bure, Linden, Smyl, Sedins, Ronning, Naslund, Ohlund...??? All aboard!!!

Interesting point, and I want to put Bo Horvat on the pedestal tonight also.

Horvat played awesome tonight. These few new guys are getting it done rather well
beating the two time SCC's (not quite dynasty yet) Pittsburgh penguins.
They look like they have some very promising talent coming to the forefront finally
and I hope they do wonderful for the team this year.

Marvelous!!!

Only one thing bothers me though. It always seems like the Canucks come out in the early going
like they are gonna take everyone to the cleaners only to have themselves run outta gas around
xmas or there abouts. Then they struggle through Feb, March and realize Hey, it's time we turn
up the heat before we are left behind. Sorry.............to late bro's. :pout:

Yup it's the same old song and dance with this team.
The great teams seem to know how to pace themselves and not let
it all hang out at the beginning of the season.

Need I mention the likes of Detroit in the same light. Those types of teams know when it is
imperative to turn on the heat so that they have some gas left in the tank for the playoffs.

The Nucks just never seem to do that. They play like the new kid on the block who has something
to prove only all to soon in the season and don't think of the big picture down the road nearer
the playoffs.

That to me comes down to coaching. Scotty Bowman was expert at that tactic.

Cheers!

Our resident hockey expert Peyton Alexander (who's undoubtedly busy setting up her new Vancouver digs to comment here!) was very hyped on Boeser when we signed him! Based on her encyclopedic knowledge of the game, I'm going to have my eye on him for a while.

Yeah, it's usually either the Xmas break or All-Star break that kills any momentum they have.

Boeser or Horvat claim the team post Sedins?
Hopefully to one greater degree. If the nucks do make the playoffs I hope those two and others as well will have
more of a mean streak in them when it comes to the playoffs. I did like how the newer players did
mix it up and not taking any crap from other players so there is some promise there I would suspect.

I am speaking of the game against Pittsburgh the other night and loved how our nucks were able to shut down
the pens and Crosby as well. Nicely done guys!!

Or does Pittsburgh just realize there is no point in getting that into it so early in the season. Get my drift???

The Sedins forte was the regular season for the mostpart.
Unfortunately maybe to do with age their last few plus times making it to the playoffs their performance was very
lackluster at best. How can they be so good in the regular season and be a miserable failure in the post season?

I guess that rough stuff is just not to their liking and the playoffs can get a whole lot rougher than regular season
as we all well know. Shitty thing to because that is when you have to step it up a notch or............loose!!

The mystery of the ages and what makes me wonder even more is why (unless I missed it) have the powers to be
never addressed this problem? I mean Geeeezus we've seen it year after bloody year and nothing had changed.

Jim Benning, where for art thou oh special one? And god forbid the manager of Hockey operations Trevor Linden
would ever say anything to this whatsoever.:lol:

Anyway, let's hope they can look at the BIG picture this year. They are looking decent and I sure hope it trends
as a team improvement for which we have all been looking for for quite some time now.

Go Nucks Go !!

I’ve watched only two Brock Boeser interviews so far this year. He gives me the very strong impression of a stone cold assassin, who likes to use subtle yet very dry sarcasm infused with a perspective that none of this hype fazes him nor does the NHL intimidate him. It’s about time. Done with all of the average aging overpaid soft free agent euros. ericsson, edler,
Vrbata etc. imagine if we had both Tkachuk and Boeser on two different top lines... never mind.

THAT'S IT!!! You just nailed it. Now I know the reason why I was banned for two weeks. :thumb: :pound:

Seriously though, I gotta agree with you 100% bro. We needed change, we are getting change.
Also In my previous post I forgot to ad that other guy I really like Del Sotto.

The Horvat line as they call it is making new school rules............FINALLY!!!!!
Okay they lost to Detroit last night by one very late goal but it was a great game.
Hey even the Sedins were in on a goal.

Btw folks, Horvat's line I just learned tonight tallied up 11 points for the game they won against
Pittsburgh. I am so wishing these guys can keep this up.

right here and now
Tonight should be a little more interesting.
Jersey actually has superior goaltending, unlike the Penguins with their excuse-pedalling whiner, and Philly hasn't had a consistent net presence since Ronny was chopping wood to keep his crease clear.
But the Brock-Star will still be ripping lasers regardless- Schneids better be on his game!

It was interesting listening to some of the comments about him yesterday on Team 1040.

People were likening him to Mike Bossy or Brett Hull. Neither of whom had the wheels like Bure did. Boeser has pretty good speed but no where like the excelleration that Bure had in his early years. He definitely has a shot with a lot of velocity that has had lots of early success. Goalies know it's coming but still can't do much when a shot like his is coming at them.

Right hand wicked shot from the Left face off circle is every coaches dream.

They did explain that on 1040. How Boeser fools the goaltenders and likened it to the golden jet.
He will pull the puck from arms length (at his side), where the goalie is seeing the shot come from then
he pulls it in towards his body and snaps it. This is what they say fools the goaltenders because by pulling it in
towards yourself, loading it up, they can't judge where the actual shot is going to come from
and he has a ripper of a shot. Now..........

You combine that with speed? I only hope they can train this kid to be a faster skater.
He will be more deadly than he is now. They touched on the fact of possibly being a 50 goal
scorer.

Don’t want to sound like any kind of an expert here, but there was a guy in the 80’s, phenomenal hands, quick release, smooth on his edges, vision of the entire ice, could pass could score and yet was not the fastest guy in the rink, not even close...just wondering then, isn’t Boeser’s speed perhaps being overly criticized.
