Alcohol always improves your judgement.

The girl with the backwards baseball cap and flip flops looks so classy.
Her mommy says "This isn’t my daughter" like so many parents when their kid fucks up.
Yet there she is on the video, sorry mommy that is your daughter.

This is a case of know thy self..
If you are a belligerent drunk, maybe don't get drunk in foreign countries.

If you are travelling to another country, call the government agency (RCMP or Custom- cant remember) and get a briefing on that country.... And people just don't come apon spray paint in the wee hours of the morn after they been drinking.... got it. Lets say this again, wink, wink....

Some people like to lead others into temptation and it does happen....

Here is a simple rule. If you are not going to do something downtown canada in broad daylight sober, why do it if you are drunk at night.... meeting new friends to try to impress them.... get a life...

In far east countries, they take their law and order seriously... IN the 1990's there was this guy from the states who got caught spray painting in Singapore... His punishment was a public whipping.... He later said that he would never do that again....

The fact that there was a video set up, means that this has happened before or its a police state......

The sentence could be up to 10 years in jail and or a 40,000.00 dollar fine..... Maybe check with that government agency first.... and plan accordingly.....

I never did get why people would go off and damage other peoples stuff... a way of getting even? revenge? or just plain ignorance?

When I was growing up, it was hard to prove such things.... Now there is video surveillance.... and phone cameras...... Matter of time before you get caught....

I don't like the idea of 1984, and the intrusion of privacy of individuals, in public or private settings....

I hope she gets what she deserves under Thailand law

I saw this story a couple of weeks ago and all I could think was....damn the gal is an IDIOT of the highest class.

Thailand is a tourist destination for a great many things which obviously includes the sex trade BUT it is pretty good frame of mind NOT to fuck with the customs etc
If a tourist flips over a bowl of incense at a Bhuddist temple it will be problematic to say the least....same goes if you deface public landmarks.

The gal is an IDIOT.....dont care how drunk you are you have to keep in mind you are in a foreign country and you are on their RULES.

I want to retire in Thailand though I have never been there...last thing I would do is piss in somebody's cornflakes and expect to encounter the same legal industry we have in Canada.

right here and now
A public caning- at least 50+ strokes with a good flexible rod while she cries about how 'sorry' she is. Yeah right- sorry she was caught, maybe. Punk.
Then a short jail term to think about her stupidity.
I agree with ^^ and setting an example.

A Thai prison would be a good diet plan for that hefty big boned Canadian gal.

The article says UP TO 10 years. She will serve some time but probably will be out in a year or two though she deserves more.

If you can’t do the time don’t do the crime.

What are these idiots thinking. Too bad for you because vandalism is just stupid.

wish we could put in place a harsher sentence here in Canada
for cases of distasteful vandalism.

some examples that really grinds my gear (that's a Family Guy reference btw).

• spraying swastika symbol on church facade
• overturning grave stones of Canadian soldiers (happened in Richmond a few years back)
• arson (burn the culprit as punishment)

A few years ago near the early 2000, when copper prices were increasing, vandals were stealing brass memorials put up on park benches, walls on buildings in Vancouver for the copper content. Man that made me mad.... best one was when the thief tried to get copper wire from a hydro substation.... hehe... he fried himself.... I don't know if he won the darwin award that year...

Anyways back to the young woman, I think she got a $4000.00 dollar fine. Got off lightly, hopefully learned her lesson...
