I'm an infrequent sp visitor with a question about breast sucking. It is a huge turn on for me and I'm wondering about possible transmission (either direction) of disease. My instinct tells me its predominately safe but any info would be welcome. Thanks

Hi gordo3

I have not heard of any sexually transmitted infections being transmitted this way.

I know that if a woman has HIV that she can transmit this to her baby with breast milk, but I have never heard of a lactating (producing breast milk) woman passing HIV this way to a sexual partner.

In regard to the risk to the woman I guess if the person had a herpes or syphilis sore on their lips there is a chance it could be transmitted, but at the same time I have never seen anyone with a herpes or syphilis sore on the breast or heard of this happening.

I would certainly classify breast sucking as practicing safer sex.
