Oh my god!!! Heath Ledger died!!!!!
We are the same age... :(

Heath Ledger found dead in apartment

Actor Heath Ledger, one of the stars of "Brokeback Mountain, was found dead in his bed in his Manhattan apartment, at 3:35 p.m., New York City police said Tuesday. He was 28.

Sleeping pills were found in the bed around him, police said.

Until recently, Ledger lived in Brooklyn.

Police said Ledger's body was found after a masseuse arrived at the apartment in lower Manhattan. A housekeeper, who let the masseuse in, believed him to be asleep, police said.

The two went into the bedroom and found him nonresponsive, then called 911, police said.

The Australian-born actor was nominated for an Oscar for "Brokeback Mountain," where he met his wife, actress Michelle Williams, in 2005. Ledger and Williams had lived in Brooklyn and had a daughter, Matilda, until they split up last year.

Ledger's roles include the suicidal son of Billy Bob Thornton in "Monster's Ball" and had starring roles in "A Knight's Tale" and "The Patriot." He was to appear as the Joker this year in "The Dark Night," a sequel to 2005's "Batman Begins" that recently finished filming.

Ledger was born in 1979, grew up in Perth and began doing amateur theater at age 10. At 16, he moved to Sydney to pursue an acting career, quickly landing TV movie roles and guest spots on Australian television.

After several independent films, Ledger moved to Los Angeles and co-starred in "10 Things I Hate About You," a teen comedy reworking of "The Taming of the Shrew." His movie career caught on soon after that, culminating with his Academy Award nomination for "Brokeback Mountain."

Younger than me by a few years.
But age of death doesn't really mean much, when you take a bottle of sleeping pills

It always amazes me how many people "appear" to have everything the rest of us want, money, fame... and their just not that happy.

Should have thrown himself into a steel mill or assembly line making 15 bucks an hour sweating and coming home with sore everything. Lets see if he thinks life sucks after that.

No sense of reality, I dont feel sorry for those that have made it in Hollywood.

I often wonder what it would be like to not be able to go out anywhere in public without being recognized, swooned over, and hounded by paparazzi.

a sleeping pill or 2 will kick you in the ass. A whole bottle or more will kick you into the next world. Its hard to make a mistake like that.

Funny, I was thinking the exact same thing as I was scrolling down. What happened was a tragedy; but lets not jump to conclusions.

As much as I'd like to think Mis. Bijou's heart is in the right direction here, and I'm all for innocent until proven guilty without jumping to conclusions... I would certainly say that there very much appears to something out of the ordinary here if not suicide.

In the second line of the article we have the following:

"Sleeping pills were found in the bed around him, police said".

It seems to me that there are only three possible choices here. Take your pick...

.1) The "signs" are that he was troubled at popped more sleeping pills than necessary to do the trick to fall unconscious and sleep. He then reached a state of delerium and popped more so that they would do more than make him sleep, and while he semiconsciously popped them, some of the contents of the bottle spilt on the bed. The end result is death by suicide.

2.) He didn't mean to go that far, and it was meant as a cry for help - attempted suicide.

3.) A murder that was made to look like a suicide.

A side note: I read atleast one story in which he was behaving very oddly.

In any case, may his soul rest in peace.

He was going to be in the new Batman movie as The Joker? My heart goes out to his little girl.

I was told by my "intelligence" that about 60% of suicides resulting in death were in fact accidental. Only time will reveal the truth of Ledgers death but maybe the autopsy scheduled for today will yield that result.

He was quite down to earth and passionate about his work. A very tragic and sad ending to such and aspiring hopeful artist.
