Always nice to look at the positive side of things. First of all, South Africa did great hosting the FIFA World Cup. Security and public safety was at its finest. South Africa has a bad reputation in the international community for its escalating crime rate but during the almost month-long World Cup schedule, they impressed the world by ensuring the safety of its visitors. Not one major incident. Second, World Cup viewership was at its highest worldwide. The number of soccer fans in the millions keeps on growing. And lastly, the finals between 2 teams who haven't won a cup was clearly good for the sport. Would definitely improve Spain's GDP as a happy population spends money. Kudos to South Africa and Spain for making history.
