brave ..... stupid .... or just adrenaline junkies

I vote for stupid. I've always thought there was something wrong with some of the people who NEED the thrills of extreme sports. The "Jackass" mentality is really a mental disorder displayed in a need for adrenaline,recognition or pain. Just like junkies, they crave the thrill and attention.
there's a world of difference between base jumpers and 'jackasses' ... the former are looking for an adrenaline high but are also (generally) quite safety conscious about what they are doing ...Cock Throppled said:

on the one hand, that guy jumping is insane. doing those flips, if he let the chute go at the wrong time it would get caught up and he would get a streamer. at that height, he'd be dead.
i wonder how many of that guys friends are dead now?
on the other hand, that guy has "lived" more than i have. that's for sure. i have only been to the golden gate bridge (and definitly not jumped off it). and i have not even come close to the eiffle tower.
adrenaline is an amazing feeling of being alive at its utmost. i can see how guys can get addicted to it.
