Joe Frazier died from liver cancer tonight at age of 67. My dad's favorite boxer because he was tenacious even though he wasn't big. Rest in peace, Joe:(

Smokin Joe was always a champ in my mind.

Thrilla in Manilla. What a fight.

RIP Joe Frazier. One hell of a great fighter. That fight with ALI in '71 at MSG is still considered one of the best fights in boxing history.

A legend in Philly. :thumb:

what a great pool of boxing talent there
was back in the 70's. I don't think we will witness anything like the fights
Frazier Ali or Forman put on..Rest In Peace Joe

A great boxer is never that great without good competition. No question, Frazier was a champ. The fights he and Ali pounded out were definitely some of the most punishing fights of their era, not to mention the heavyweight boxing division by itself.

That means the Klitschko brothers will never be that great. Though not their fault, they never had any tough competition in their respected divisions.
It certainly leaves room for debate, doesn't it? When you see the likes of the champions in the Ali era, Foreman, Norton, Frazier, including the dethroning of Liston, the boxing world was lucky to see those ahtletes. Not to mention tough guy George Chuvalo who could have been a strong champ if the opposition wasn't as dynamic.

I doubt Tyson would have drawn as much attention if he was fighting the like of those boys.

What an awesome fighter, but at the same time, pretty sad to see how badly Ali was able to get inside his head and scar him for a very long time. Ali was quite cruel and petty in cutting him down, well beyond the normal trash talking that goes on in sports.
