Same here!Yes... Megan Fox happens to be in this... but in my defence, I have seen every Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie to date and there's no way I would miss this one, no matter who had been cast as April O'Neil. I do have some minor issues based on what I've seen so far but it's a TMNT movie and I'm psyched!
I'm not seeing a Casey Jones character in the trailers at this point, so I'm not sure if he'll be in the movie. I still hold out hope that one day, we'll get a feature take on the City at War story arc. With the budget and FX of this reboot, it looks like they could pull it off but the tone would need to be much grittier and that doesn't seem too likely. I do love Johnny Knoxville as the voice of Leonardo though!![]()
It was cool. But I think James Gunn made it a little too jokey, to the point where it seemed like he was trying to out-Whedon Whedon and came off a little insecure in his writing sometimes, and I think they took it a bit far with overcoming things through the power of friendship but I look forward to the sequel. Perhaps they will explore Starlord's dad as a storyline if they don't keep using it as a vehicle for what looks like the plot for Avengers 3.Same here!
As most boys my age, I grew up as a huge TMNT fan. So, my ass is gonna be in theaters ASAP.
BTW if you're a huge TMNT fan, Netflix has a great documentary called: Turtle Power: The Definitive History of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
While I'm at it, Guardians of The Galaxy was awesome.
Tonally it's very different than the other Marvel movies, like you said it's more humorous and comedic than the rest of them. Then again, the movie takes place at a part of the galaxy we haven't been introduced to yet in the Marvel movie universe. So I thought the script did a good job introducing us to not just this new world, but the characters at the same time. The humor I felt was different than Whedon's kind of humor. I'll concede that the pacing was a bit off at some points though. I'm glad James Gunn is sticking around for the sequel cause I personally love what he brought to the table. It was cool. Well, I think you see elements of them trying to tie together the cinematic universe with each movie expanding a bigger piece of the lore. The infinity gauntlet was in a deleted scene in the armor in the first Thor, the Tesseract / cosmic cube from Cap / the Avengers is one of the gems, as was the Aether from Thor 2, Thanos was in Avengers of course, I don't know if the character in Avengers that was supposedly Annihilus that led the Chitauri was the same as Thanos' speaker in Guardians, or if that was Corvus Glaive, but I think after 15 years of Marvel studios movies, Guardians isn't that far out there or unknown, there are enough hints and drops, it's almost he next logical step and a bridge to what everyone thinks the plot of Avengers 3 will be.Tonally it's very different than the other Marvel movies, like you said it's more humorous and comedic than the rest of them. Finally, in Vancouver... sort of...Snowpiercer
This co French/South Korean co production is being released anytime now. The world has been destroyed by an attempt to end global warming and the only survivors are riding endlessly on a train to nowhere with the poor at the back and the rich at the front.

Though it undoubtedly has some plot holes it has a 94% Rotten tomatoes rating from critics due mainly to the apparently spectacular special effects and the underlying theme of the movie as a modern portrayal of class warfare.
Because everyone else watched it already...The Expendables 3 - Friday
(Aw c'mon... you all knew that if nobody else posted it, I would!)
Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. They waited a bit long (9 years), better late than never.

The Vancity Theatre will be showing this again tonight at 10:20 and tomorrow at 3:00 PM. And it will also be at The Rio on Monday and Tuesday night. I was thinking about finally catching it tonight at the Vancity but then I would have to shell out an extra couple of bucks for a membership for that theatre. I'll probably just wait till Tuesday night to watch it at The Rio.Finally, in Vancouver... sort of...Snowpiercer
