There're lots of beauty spas around where ladies get pampered.

Now I'm mostly a FS guy, but today I got myself pampered in a different way. Got to a neighborhood beauty spa at 11.30 and left at 2.30.

My treatment consisted of an excellent massage with a happy ending, followed by a shower and then a 1 1/4 hr "facial".

I was asked to lie face up on a comfy massage-type table, in my underwear. The facial included not only lots of fussing with my face and applying sundry tools and creams, but also of frills like trimming my eyebrows and nose hair, as well as massaging my face, neck, shoulders and legs.

I was left alone in the room for a while while the collagen mask did its magic. Due to the earlier massage, I felt beautifully relaxed throughout. Without that prior happy ending, I'd probably have been a little restless during the facial.

Didn't hurt either that there was soothing music playing in the background, and the beautician—not the same lady who gave me the massage—kept telling me, "You're so handsome," "You're so smart," "You speak such good Chinese." All lies, perhaps, but pleasant to hear nonetheless.

She also said, very few guys ever come in for anything but massage. Guess most males of the species don't know what they're missing.

The cost of this exquisite indulgence, you ask? About $45 for the facial, and a $20 tip for the beautician. On top of this I also gave my masseuse the customary donation.

Feel blissed out of my mind now and find myself looking...well, aglow and years younger than my age.

Interested? Just google "cheap facials Vancouver BC" (or whichever area you're in), and a "yelp" website comes up with options for you to check out.

OMG, this is exactly what I have in mind, but I can't compete with those prices (and I won't even try)!

I'm super-happy for you, Tant, and I'm proud of the fact that I also send guys away with that same blissful feeling (ok, a little lighter in the wallet, but you get my drift)! I had a 3-hour appointment on the weekend!

Spa spa spa...now that's my idea of a good time!

interesting, sounds like a good way to relax

just a side question tant, are you Asian? or a white guy that speaks Chinese? just curious because you mention often in your reviews about your use of Chinese language to woo the ladies
And, based on his posting history, the infamous Tant is a white guy, with a special affinity for the Asian ladies. So much so, that he has taken it upon himself to learn enough Mandarin(?) to make his favorite type of lady more comfortable with him...and more amenable to his requests...

Yes, men's spa days are super! I go for regular (every 6 weeks or so) manicure and pedicure treatment. Non erotic, but very lively, flirty Vietnamese ladies who seem all too eager to ensure I return. YMMV, but i get full on head massage, hand, foot & lower leg massage with mani-pedi combo. runs me about $100 including tips, 90 minutes. The ladies are awesome, tittering away the whole time.

I've been going to the same place for a couple years now, and always feel like a king when I walk out. It's sooooo decadent!

I have to say, I think men who go to the spa are a turn on. Especially ones that want to take me with them ;) I can't wait until I have a massage table set up !
I know I enjoyed that day and night with you

Due to overwhelming interest in this topic I've added a poll

Way to go, BC_BABE. I think we're on the same wavelength—at least on this issue.:)

And I know just the place to take you to!

I wouldn't mind springing for a spa treatment for you, if it mollifies your feelings toward me. No counter-favors expected.

Perhaps you can even watch my favorite masseuse give me an expert tug; might give you ideas for when you set up your own massage table.

Hey, no pressure—but PM me if interested.

Why would you assume more men don't do this.. the reason you don't hear about it more is because those of us who have figured it out don't want it to turn into a sausage fest.

Ill keep my spa days to myself, please and thank you. I like the me to women ratio exactly where it is... feel free to delete this thread lol.

Shhh!!!!

I agree that it sounds like a good way to relax but don't agree with the anti-aging benefits...especially when a person leaves the spa to sun tan for a few hours and enjoy a pack of smokes. IMO...Looking youthful is more about what we put in our body than what we put on it. I am a firm believer that we age from the inside out.

Before this thread slips into inevitable obscurity...

Great thread! Expose the secret! All spas are about self-indulgence. Doesn't matter if it is an amp or a legitimate foot spa.
I am wildly enthusiastic and have been a regular at women's spas for years.
I go with my daughter, she loves it. Went with my son, he's not quite comfortable yet.
Locally, I've had facials ranging from our own Intelligent spa to the Fairmont Airport.

Watch the prices, that $45 facial at an asian spa can cost $125 at an upscale spa.
The dirty little secret is that the women's treatments are better (more varied and nuanced, better products) than the treatments marketed to men.
So I always order from the women's menu and will always avoid the spa that caters to male clientel.
Besides, all of the women centered spas welcome the occasional male. And once you become a regular, you're part of the club.
I see the beauty benefits same as Chinese medicine, many true believers but who really knows? I do it because it feels good!

....I'd like to take the opportunity to thank brother oceanic for his informative contribution.

I see, my little poll attracted an impressive sample of 16 PERB respondents—who're no doubt representative of males on this planet.

Almost 1/3 of the guys polled wouldn't allow themselves to be groomed and facially rejuvenated at a beauty spa, for fear of appearing unmanly! Goes to show again the self-defeating attitudes of so many males of the species. That's probably part of why men die on average almost 5 years younger than women.

One quarter of respondents say that beauty spa treatments hadn't registered on their radar before. That's one reason to read PERB: you can pick up the darndest ideas here.

But what's interesting—though perhaps not surprising in a self-selected sample of those who opened this thread—is that 18% of respondents say they regularly go to beauty spas to optimize their looks. And predictably, this pays off in terms of female interest. Women, I've found, often care less about how old you are or how naturally handsome, and more about whether you project a well-groomed and confident image.

Which means that age doesn't necessarily eliminate older guys—who're smart enough to avail themselves of things like facials at beauty spas—from the exciting game of wooing and bedding hot babes. Older women have it much tougher with much younger men in this respect.

There're obviously always negativists about any proposal, and the idea of guys getting pampered, groomed and rejuvenated at beauty spas is no exception.

But I like to focus on the positive and want to thank brothers who share my constructive attitude toward experimenting with the finer things in life, such as treatments at a beauty spa: NoSoundRain (wish you'd elaborate); rintin6 (details please!), and of course oceanic (whose words warm my heart).

Oceanic, you obviously have tons of experience with spa treatments. Thanks for your "dirty little secret." But I'm not sure I can really believe all women-centred spas welcome the occasional male. I initially found considerable suspicion wafting my way in one or two places.

Would love some PMs about spas that are willing to lavish their best treatment on a well-aged male, for less than say $80. Availability of massage with HE is a plus, but not essential because I can find that elsewhere.

You have a valad argument,But I agree with the previous poster thinking that it's more important as to what you put inside your body. You see people treating their bodies horribly when there in there 20's especially suntanners! And they look like a catchers mitt when they get in there mid thirties. Also genes play a big part in all this, some people are just blessed with amazing skin. Personally I think spa's,skin care products, etc. are just a billion dollar a year rip off playing on peoples insecurities.
As far as attracting women, a genuine smile and having a little bit off confidence goes a long way, I've flirted with women while I was dressed in $7 Walmart track pants and a grease stained t shirt. I've found women aren't as shallow about looks as us guys(not that some girls don't try to change a guys look once they've started dating him)
My ex dragged me to a spa & it was okay, I didn't really like getting my eyebrows waxed( ladies you have my utmost respect! Especially the ones who get the brasillian) I'd much rather sit by a camp fire with a couple rib eyes on the grill than have some sadistic person ramming my cuticals back inside my fingers. Now that's my idea of pampering :-D

Whenever I go to a resort or on a holiday I look for a spa to get a legit RMT massage, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, etc etc. Never been to one that has a happy ending but I do enjoy getting the kinks knocked out of my back, shoulders and legs. Nothing gay or metro about having a body that feels good after a good spa treatment.

Excellent point, Tant! I just got an e-mail, inquiring about my massage with happy ending, including hot stones and facial! Very exciting and thanks! :clap2:

Your place or mine?
I'll go on occasion and treat myself. Usually it's during a Vacation or when I'm in Vegas. I actually had one the last time when I was in Vegas this year.

I was playing poker and I was up so much money that my winnings already paid for my trip plus extra spending money.
Well I decided to go shopping, got some new threads, a nice gold watch and went for the spa treatment.

I decided to go for the fully loaded spa treatment. So this included the full body massage, exfoliation with butter rum salt scrub, followed by sweet caramel moisturizing wrap, scalp message, and deep pore cleansing collagen facial.

All this cost $300 US. Seems more than I usually pay for, for a spa treatment. But who cares as it was the casinos money and casino comp points that I used. But I felt like a million bucks after. I would recommend that all guys do this as we deserve the pampering as much as women do too.

snip...When I enter the woman's spa, I approach the Reception. Usally I have studied the menu on-line and know what I want. They typically point me to the Man's Sport Treatment. I decline saying Thanks, but I'd like the Women's Restoration Facial with Ylang-Ylang Aromatherapy or whatever. Reception says OK, they don't care. Sometimes wait in a common lunge. Sometimes it is straight into the treatment room to change. Sometimes change to a robe and then wait in a common private room with other robed women. This is where you will feel totally out of place. Some women customers look askance at me and obviously feel invaded. Most politely ignore me. I'll thumb through a magazine. Occasionally, curiosity from someone and then polite small talk. 10 minutes and you are out of there and into a private room...
When you come to my place, Spa Paradise, all of the attention's on you, baby! No prying eyes, no curious stares! :D

Thanks for the info, oceanic & poseidon (both of you have aquaphile handles!)

Not to revive an older thread, I'm very remote right now with spotty internet access...

Final pointer: the therapist is more important than the spa. When I find a good one, I repeat and build a relationship with her. If she moves to another spa, I follow her. When I finally lose her, then I go spa shopping again until I find a new one.
My dear friend (and I mean it),

Appreciate you giving us this glimpse of your beauty-spa adventures! I, for one, am fascinated.

Good for you that you don't play along with macho "role-model assumptions" at man spas or the "man's sport treatment" at a woman's spa.

You're one of a kind—the way you first research a beauty spa's offerings online, before you venture into the mysteries of one of women's most secretive hideouts. So while you wait for treatment, they make you change into a robe and put you in a common room with one or more robed ladies?

Kudos to you for not letting suspicious, shocked or downright hostile female glances deter you. I guess a suave, cultured gentleman like yourself has had far too many triumphs in life ever to let anyone or anything disturb his composure.

I can vividly imagine the "polite small talk" you're making with female beauty-spa patrons in that common room:

Him: "Hello, mind if I sit here?"

Her: "Suit yourself...What brings you here? Never seen a man in this spa before."

Him: "Well, I don't like artificial gender distinctions. We're all human beings. We're all after much the same things. So I come here for the reasons you probably do: health, relaxation, younger looks."

Her: "And I thought, this spa is ladies only. Couldn't help thinking when I first saw you here, is nothing sacred any more? Why are you hungry male wolves invading the last private refuge that's left for us women?"
---

Also love your easygoing manner of chatting with the "therapist." Interesting term—I've always used "beautician" or "cosmetologist" in this context.

Brother, by informing us of your modus operandi, you've given me a big impetus to follow in your footsteps. Perhaps you can PM me about a spa with one of those quality therapists you mention. I'd fully understand if you want to keep her under wraps.

Wish you the best, on whatever faraway shores you may be wandering—hopefully not alone.:)

PS: I intend to take PlayfulAlex up on her "Spa Paradise" one of these days—if the price is right. She's clearly a female rarity: both levelheaded and high-libido at the same time. I'm sure her R&T is great, though I wonder a bit: does she have the requisite expertise for the kind of fancy "Women's Restoration Facial" you describe, complete with aromatherapy and exfoliation?
