Decided to go to a movie. Pulled up the theater/movie listings and what appears on the screen next to the theater name? You are 2.56km away. Huh. And how do you know where I am? Can you tell the colour of my underwear?

I really don't like this type of thing. Privacy is becoming a major problem.

Your device is trying to be helpful! There is a way to turn that sort of thing off though. Don't ask me how as I haven't had to figure it out on mine....

And how do you know where I am?

Because you have your device's location services turned on.

You can turn them off, but then won't be able to use maps/directions/GPS etc.

I keep my location feature turned off and only enable it as required. While GPS technology is very helpful, it is a little creepy.

As for maps etc. I never get lost because people often tell me where to go......
