he doesn't strike me as the kind of actor who would want or need to slum it in a dumb movie for the paycheque.

Well the Captain America sequel is directed by the Russo brothers who are known for Community.

It looks like Robert Redford is going to be Alexander Pierce which is a name from the comics but not a major character and they have tweaked the character a lot. I would think he actually could be Aleksander Lukin or a remake of that character since Winter Soldier is the title and the character.

i can't say i care for many of the fringe mutant characters, they're just too silly (i don't read any comics so i can only refer to their cinema versions).
this one looks like its the core xmen trapped in a star trek story. is that good or bad?

It's pretty much a revamp of the comic book storyline it is titled after, which was one of the classic xmen storylines. So it should be good.

Dunno, it's an 80s comic so it's coming from a different era. Take that for what it's worth.

This is one I will be seeing on the big screen for sure! I really enjoyed the first movie despite everything it left out of the book. I'm sure 'Catching Fire' will be the same!
