Hey all,

Be sure to check any american 100 bills.
I was paid (not) with some genuine 100s and genuine 20s and one fake 100.
Double check your payments.

Thanx,

that sucks Jess, especially since people get what they pay for when they see you and more!!!

On that note though, After I read a toftt or a ripoff review I wish I had some fake $$$ to spend on the shady providers out there, just as a little payback

Sucks that it happened to you though

chances are probably pretty good that if it was one bill mixed in with a bunch of good ones that the guy who passed it to you didn't realize it was counterfeit, although that's not a given. It seems logical to me that someone intentionally passing bad bills around would have given you all bad bills. If you couldn't spot the first bogus bill then you'd be unlikely to pick up the others either, and if you can spot a bad bill then it's just as big a hassle to explain one away as it would all of them.

As sad as it is, SPs are a great place to try out your bad bills, since the repercussions are likely to be less than they might be in more conventional businesses.

I suspect he probably knew he had a fake.
If it was a fake 20, he could have gotten it as change somewhere, but $100 bills would logically only come from a bank, where they check all bills closely and would have taken it out of circulation.
Slipping one bad bill into an envelope with some legit bills makes it harder to spot at first glance.

Sorry you got burned Jess, but it could have been worse...

North Carolina police are looking for the criminal who paid for his $150 groceries with this $200 fake bill bearing the image of President Bush at a Food Lion in Roanoke Rapids last September. Remarkably, the cashier accepted the counterfeit note and gave him $50 in change!

oversite

Actually, it was very obviously a fake bill.
Half of it was real, half of it fake, taped together.
no "ghost" of benjamin in the right side, the pictures and numbers a bit too small...
The money was included in an envelope with other real currency (amer)
2x100
1x fake 100
10 x 20

I opened it, poke through with my fingers quickly counting , the light was low, and I was 20 min late ( !!!oops !!!) so I was not careful enough, and should have taken a moment to look closer.

Costly mistake on my part.

thanx,
xo,
