The beautiful Fraser Valley !
I don't mean to sound Rude or Pompous ? And, I'm not trying to play "White Knight" !

But, it seems to Me, that Priya's original Thread has been Hijacked ?
She was looking for Restaurant Ideas, as the Thread's Title, would suggest ?

Could I suggest, opening a few New Threads, with these possible Titles ? LOL !

"Life on the Road"
"Cooking at Home"
"Gluten Free Recipes"
"I don't like to Eat Out, unless It's Pussy"

Just my 2 Cents ...

Cheers

P.S. Just a "Heads-Up", but, You can easily Edit or Delete a Reply to any Thread you've made for up to 24Hrs .
Then, It's locked-in, and requires a Mod to remove.
Just thought, I'd throw it out there ?

I agree...all hijackers should be required to report to Miss Hunter for a good sound flogging and sounding....unless Priya does such things herself, then let her seek vengeance herself...after all there is a readily available list of transgressors.

The 6 to the.. Other 6
I didn't know those options were available..
*delete* and done!
Now, back on topic.

I just had some nice "noodle soup" in Richmond? I believe it's called deer garden. It's a gem of a place but you better speak Chinese, lol.

For me, blue water cafe. Sit at the bar and enjoy cocktails and sushi/seafood. You might see Canucks players or famous actors/actress.

Tasting menu at Hawksworth. MMMMMMMmmmm.

Another vote for Blue Water. Also a vote for YEW.

Comfort food? Try Peaked Pies. I thought they were only in Whistler. Sadly for my waist line they are on Denman too.

True Confections is my go to for delicious cheesecake. I like it more than all the others still, and I have tried a lot.

Red Wagon is my favourite brunch spot, gotta go early to avoid the lineups. (there are many brunch places I have not been to)

I just recently tried Heritage Asian Eatery, by Burrard Station. Its very flavourful, definitely a place to try out.

True Confections used to be my favourite but I feel the quality declined somewhat after what appears to have been a change of ownership. I prefer Sweet Obsessions these days.

There are many great restaurants in Vancouver. But what's not great is the worsening traffic situation, the increasing cost of living, the decreasing employment opportunities, the arrogance, the disrespect, the overcrowding, the worsening air quality, the increasing crime, the idiotic drivers who hog the left lane. But we do have the mountains and ocean to look at, and it's always lots of fun fighting traffic to go to my favourite eatery.

These restaurant recommendations will come in handy, since I contacted 3 agencies and a handful of indies and everyone is booked up for the night. This was at 8 o'clock on a tuesday. Don't you guys have to be at work tomorrow? lol. Guess I'll spend these 320 on tacos instead :D

Isn't it? I used to live in Toronto & Jerk Chicken, Oxtail, etc was a regular part of my diet. I came west and it's a barren wasteland. I discovered one great place in Edmonton but that's been about it. A side helping of fried plantains always helps too.
at my old workplace, the people at the Toronto office would send it to the Vancouver office because of nothing being here.

I so owe you man. I'm a huge fan of Jerk Chicken and it was a staple in my diet when I lived in Toronto. It's nearly impossible to find in Western Canada (at least the good stuff). Thanks so much.
Check out the small chain of restaurants called 'The Reef'. There's plenty of jerk options, and oxtail stew as well.
