Cafe MaiMai on granville and marine drive area is the only pho that doesn't use MSG and i'm hooked to their chilli oil pepper sauce.

I think you have to base this on what it is youre looking to eat. Some restaurants have better meat ... some have better noodle dishes. Kim Saigon on main st right between Pender and keefer st fulfills my taste buds ... I love the deep fried banana ...vegetable pho, fish pho and vegetable salad roll ...

Many of these reviews can be other restaurants bashing each other so please don't take every review as a lagit comment.

Agree with all the above posts (...ok..so I like pho).

What I like:

1. Richmond -Pho Lan 6950 No 3 Rd. Huge portions. Their bun bo hue is especially good. Downside: place is a dump so you won't be impressing anyone by taking them there. They place cardboard boxes on the ground to keep people from slipping.

2. Vancouver - https://www.zomato.com/vancouver/cafe-xu-hue-kensington-vancouver - 2226 Kingsway. Known for their bun also. As a matter of fact, every time I go there, it seems that's all people eat (you might want to try the vegetarian vietnamese place next door.

3. Vancouver - Hai Phong - 1246 Kingsway - Pho is ok. It seems like a lot of families go there for the shared hot pot. Personally, I like the vermicelli bowls more vs pho here.

4. Burnaby - http://pho101bby.com/ - 5937 Hastings Street. They got a special one where they leave the raw meat on the side. Lighter broth..(the noodles aren't as good. They taste like they just finished rehydrating them). Do try the chicken wings.

I can't believe that nobody has mentioned Phnom Penh at 244 East Georgia St. (Chinatown), best Vietnamese/Cambodia food in the lower mainland. They offer much more than your average Pho place...
