Weather's finally heating up.

Wonder where you think has the best ice cream in the Lower Mainland? I mean real, creamy ice cream, not some gimmicky shit involving nitrogen, fancy additions or stupid flavours like garlic, or cheese.

Thanks. And my favourite is Casa Gelato on Venables (even though they have some of those weird flavours).

Marble Slab. There's a few locations. You get mix in all kinds sweet things such as candy and cookie dough. I don't go very often because it's so rich.

Rocky Mountain Ice Cream has some amazing salted caramel, probably my favourite.

Also I enjoy fried ice cream, so Ic.e Queen Ice Cream Rolls is very delicious. The fruit or whatever toppings you choose become infused in the ice cream.

I am also fond of Rain or Shine, Soft Peaks, and Dolce Amore is good too.

Wow, great thread! I've never heard of a few of these places like Rain or Shine but now I've got to put them on my "To Do" list. Thanks all!

Some years ago I ran into a ice cream store (in a mall) that had the self serve machines with 6-8 basic flavours of ice cream. They also had a assortment of topping from candies to fruit. usually went into a bowl and you paid by weight of bowl....
Do people still use these places. yearround
Some ice cream places are only open for the sun... late spring to late fall.

Must admit I hadn't even thought of soft ice cream in years.

Used to love being taken to Dairy Queen as a kid for a soft cone.

I have never heard of self-serve soft ice cream, although I think there is a frozen yogurt chain that might do something similar.

Brassa also has an espresso bar serving some very nice coffees.

I've had their gelato this past winter.

Yup, the chain is called Menchies. There's also TCBY which are usually found in movie theaters.
