Planning ahead for when this is all over and I can go nuts.

Looking for the best hotel room/suite in Vancouver.
  • King size bed
  • Hot tub or soaker tub
  • Big views of city or water or scenery to fuck to.
  • Plenty of sturdy surfaces to use.
  • Understanding front desk / concierge
  • Decent restaurant in lobby or nearby (open late)
  • Tasteful decor
Parking not necessary. Doesn't matter if elevator is key-card access or not.
Preferably downtown Vancouver but willing to entertain interesting locations.
Cost not a factor.

Suggestions?

Why limit yourself to a hotel. Why not hit up an AirBNB?
I find them a large downgrade from a hotel. Are some actually so nice, they are nicer than a deluxe hotel. It always struck me that they were more for the people who cannot afford a hotel room.

AirBNB has different tiers of listings. There are some amazing ones in the luxe and plus tiers. Fewer nice ones in Vancouver but many in other cities.

I've always liked the Metropolitan. Super nice rooms and posh atmosphere. It's been awhile since I stayed there but I'm sure the standards have remained high. Diva restaurant in the hotel was very good.

That's a pretty good price for that room.
I thought so too until I did a little investigating. That price is like "rooms starting at...", NOT "this room is...". The room we see in the picture doesn't even show up in the price list, but one that's less impressive is something like $1400/night, so the one we see there is even more. I still haven't found a price for the "Chairman's Suite".

That makes more sense.

Does any of these 5-star hotels have balconies? preferably private (walled sides)? Facing the water?
*Fairmont Pacific Rim seem to have some, other suggestions?

Also how "understanding" are the concierges in these places? Being 5-star, I can imagine some stuffy and snooty prick telling me I'm NOT the Sausage King of Chicago.

New Westminster Inn at the Quay. The King rooms have king size beds and big ass tubs. Most of those rooms are out over the river and if you get a room on the west side of the hotel your balcony looks out over the Fraser so if you want to indulge in an outside romp you are free from prying eyes except for any passing tug or other floating device.

I've stayed there before, good hotel, great location, great views of the river, but it's right above the boardwalk so it's not "that" private if anyone chooses to look up. You'll need to get the room at the very end of the building.

Also, they lock the doors after 9pm, which made me apprehensive on calling for any outcall service. Because it's so heavily guarded after hours.

I just spent some time looking through the AirBnb listings in Vancouver, and there are some very nice ones. I do love fucking over a solid kitchen counter. I swear there's two buildings that are just nothing but AirBnb suites.
I did find one that just seemed perfect for a hub of debauchery and it's on the list.

Saw a couple of boats and houseboats. Interesting idea, but water has never been my thing.

I do have concerns about AirBnb for a couple of reasons.

1. Privacy. I've had of stories where nanny cams and nosy neighbhours have ruined a stay. I'm not sure they'd want to know my ass has been pressed against the stainless steel door of their fridge.
2. Accessibility. Tight entrance controls were used by the host. Constant monitoring of in and out. I'll also have to go down to bring up any company.

Thanks for looking that up. On to the "when I win the lottery" list. That is a magnificent suite.
