My friends finally talked me into playing ice hockey with them in their league. I used to play a lot in high school, but gave it up for a while. Even though I have some equipment, I need to get more like shin guards, shoulder pads and shield for my helmet. Where is the best place to go?

Low end equipment - Canadian Tire/ Sportcheck

mid end - high end equipment - The Hockey Shop in Surrey or Cyclone Taylor in Vancouver.

Sometimes you can find some good stuff at Scoff's on Hastings in Burnaby

There is a hockey store, I think it is called the Hockey Store at 5th and Burrard (across from the movie theatre) that sells reasonably priced equipment. I think it is last years models that don't see. I've gotten my shoulder pads, shin guards and gloves there. It's also a good place for sticks. I would check it out at least.

Since my friends like Cyclone Taylor, I am going to check it out. The Sports exchange at Burrard st is good, but I heard the service could be unpredictable. Thanks for info.

I ended up buying my stuff at Cyclone Taylor. It had more stuff with good service. Parking was difficult because the store was located at Oak St. The place was packed with customers. I am so ready to play hockey!
