David's on Argyll closed down for good about a month or so ago. I've found that Harvey's has a pretty good burger, although I don't like their fries!

HI06: A good place to start is the Purple Onion on w49th. There are others which you can use the search function for, as I believe this topic was covered a while back in the vancouver forums.

Honestly, I'd rate the cactus club burgers, white spot burgers, and most pub burgers (Black Bear, Mountain Shadow, Seymours) well and truly above Petes burgers.

I appreciate the suggestions/locations:cool:

I lived in Calgary for a year and didn't find a good burger the entire time I was there just gave up and went to Wendy's when I had a craving. There are at least a dozen places in Winnipeg that top anything in Alberta. I wouldn't wipe my ass with a cheeseburger from Pete's Drive In.

I would say Chili's ain't bad and another place I stopped at on my way west was Jack's drivin in Spruce Grove excellent burgers and shakes and the ice cream well!

Like i said before petes drive in is very over rated i spent half an hour in that stuiped line up and was NOT satisfied with that....PLAIN cheeseburger....YUCK ......repeat no....If you want a good burger in calgary go to smugglers. For the same amount of time waiting in the petes drive in you can sit down and have a great meal.

Well Pete's Drive In in Calgary must be doing something right because there is always lineups no matter what time of the day. I guess everyone has their opinion and their favourite place for burgers. All large majority of the people in Calgary would probably disagree with you who say it is over-rated.
I have travelled throughout the province of Alberta and I have found Pete's Drive-In the best I have tasted. Burger Baron, I have found the burgers to be too greasy with no flavour and over-priced.

I have not really found a place here in Edmonton who makes great burgers. However, if you are ever in Calgary, you have to visit Pete's Drivein on 16 Avenue. They have the best burgers and they have great milk shakes;) :p  :)
Really ? I don't really find Peter's burgers that special. It's OK, but nothing I would run to. Surprisingly, if you want a good burger, go to Moxie's for their Bulleye Burger. It's nice, juicy and very flavorful. Red Robin used to have a good burger, but all the locations closed down.
