GATEWAY GRIZZLIES BASEBALL TEAM

The Grizzlies and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts have teamed up to create “Baseball’s Best Burger.” The burger, which was debuted at the Grizzlies' December 10th sale, consists of a thick and juicy burger topped with sharp cheddar cheese and two slices of bacon. The burger is then placed in between each side of a Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnut.

Grizzlies general manager Tony Funderburg got the idea after reading about the "Luther Burger" served at Mulligan's, a restaurant near Atlanta.

The Grizzlies have added a unique concession item each of the least two seasons. In 2004 “Baseball’s Best Hotdog” hit GMC Stadium. It consists of a 1/5 pound Farmland 8 inch All Beef Black Angus Hot Dog, topped with two strips of freshly cooked bacon, 1 oz. Sautéed Onions, 1 oz. Sautéed Sauerkraut and ½ oz. Cheddar Cheese Sauce, all on a fresh baked bun. In 2005, the “Swiss Brat” was introduced. The “Swiss Brat” is made from a Landshire Bratwurst with a slice of Swiss cheese in the middle of it. 1oz. of Sautéed Sauerkraut is served on top.

“We have had the opportunity to bring in a new concession item for the past two seasons and each of them have been very successful. We look forward to Baseball’s Best Burger and the excitement it will bring to the ballpark,” said Grizzlies General Manager Tony Funderburg.

After taste-testing the creation, the Grizzlies sought the approval of Krispy Kreme for use of the name and doughnuts.

“We are excited to work with the Grizzlies this season on Baseball’s Best Burger,” said Tina Bryan, Vice President of Marketing for Sweet Traditions, the local area developer for Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. “Our doughnuts have been used in such things as wedding cakes, bread pudding, fondue, and now a hamburger bun. What a fun and unique way to offer our signature Original Glazed doughnut to Grizzlies fans.”

There is Phat Burger, or is it spelled Fat Burger. A chain that recently moved north from the United States. Ah the U.S., where they really know their fat! Supersize me!

I thought Fat Burger was overpriced and nothing special. Burger Heaven in New West is still my favorite, but I haven't tried Vera's yet.

one of the most disapointing places to me was that Walley Burger on Kingsway that everyone pissed and moaned about how good it was.

IMO the burger looked like a slapped together backyard BBQ burger. I asked for ketchup and the cheap broad gave me one packet, the place also has all the atmosphere of eating in a public washroom. :( Went once and never again.

fucking totally agree with you about walleys. what the fuck man? i can't see why everyone talked about it at all. i think at one time it may have been good or something but yeah i also went once and never again. the price is not that great at all for what you receive.

vera's will soon have a surrey location for all you eastern folk:p . oh shit i almost forgot about licks back in ontario. anyone thats been out that way ever try it? if so what did you think?

Vera's, in Surrey, is now open. I've been meaning to try it. Is it any good? The burgers are pretty pricey, so I'm expecting In'n'Out quality for those prices.

Wally's Burgers on Kingsway must be living on nostalgia or something. Went there once, found it very mediocre and the atmosphere is pretty dumpy.

dude they are fucking great. really big too. just a burger should fill you up. go on friday they have a burger and fries special for 9.99. i really like the 4 cheese burger but the blue cheese can be a little much for some. the bbq burger is really good too.

they have the other premium burgers as well but they are not offered as the special. you know they even have nathans famous hotdogs there as well eh. i thought that was pretty cool. also to everyone that commented in that post about philly cheese steaks, they make a decent one. at least they use real provolone cheese.

yeah the only reason i went to walleys was cause it looked like it jumped out of the 50's but i was so let down.

Ditto! What a piece of dogshit that place is, or was - dunno which as I avoid even checking to see if that morass is still breathing...

Lordy, those burgers were bad... You forgot to mention their 10W30 oil soaked fries...
