If you were Vancouver, would you trade Bertuzzi to Boston for Joe Thornton.
Both are unhappy in their cities.

yup.

bertuzzi was only effective when he was willing to stand in front of the net and take some abuse ... when he starting thinking he was Gretzky and occupied the 'office' behind the net the 'nucks went downhill fast.

his hit on steve moore didn't do the team any good either, and while some fans may still like and forgive him, he is a bit of a public relations disaster.

Thornton might just be a good leader to build around ... nazzi may or may not be back, and linden is not the impact player he once was so i'd go for it.

nope. i like Bert.

he stuck up for his team mates and although it didnt work out like he wanted it to. well, im sure he rethought the way he wanted it to come out. he still stuck up for his team mates and that is an admireable quality and the sign of a good leader. IMHO.

his wife is pretty hot too.

bertuzzi's market value ain't what it used to be the canucks would get more for him if they let him show is old form first but boston wouldn't make that trade thorton is twice the player bert is

this is what i've heard...

sakic wants to finish his career in vancouver. only on the condition he's on a line with naslund and bertuzzi. thing is...apparently a deal is done with bertuzzi going to toronto for sundin.

I for one am interested in seeing how Bertuzzi comes back from this whole mess. I gots a feeling its gonna be an "all or nothing" deal. It'll either be:

A) He is permanently shattered by the experience and never regains his edge and is a a washed up bust.

B) He learns and grows from this and comes back more mature and ready to play and takes the league by storm.

I'm hoping for 'B', and in a vancouver uniform. But only time will tell. I certainly would be willing to wait and see how he comes along. If he ever gets his shit together, he'll be the most dominant player in the league....man, that boy has hands....

Interesting...I got a source that has him in talks to go down south of the border....but sources and rumors usually don't mean sweet fuck all. Lots of fun though.

It might be good for both players, even though I like Bert in Vancouver uniform. But Thornton has many big injury history. Might not be a good trade for Vancouver

and here did you get this rumour from? I love to see Sakic in Vancouver uniform. As for Bert for Sundin, I would never make that deal, it is the stupidest thought ever, compare their age difference...

Sakic

Seeing Burnaby Joe play for the Canucks would be a hoot...don't think it will happen, though...then again I didn;t think Trevor Linden would play here again after tha fucking asshat Keenan traded him, so who knows.

Hornydude,

Love him or hate him, Keenan was the man that got us Bert from NYI for Linden, what really puzzles me is when Linden was traded to Montreal for a first round draft pick, that the Canucks didn't try for him then....but it all worked out in the end......also remember, it was also Keenan that got us Naslund from Pittsburgh.

Cheers

Keenan didn't get us Naslund from Pittsburgh it was Pat Quinn who traded our first found pick Alex Stojanov for Nasland.

Pittsburgh justified the trade by saying they won the cup when they got
Stojanov.

KYG,

Sorry, my mistake....got the year wrong....you are right Pat Quinn did get Naslund.

Not much of a Keenan fan, but he did get the job done (getting the best out of his player, and some good trades) when he was in St Louis,Philly, and did win the cup in NYR......can't say much about Chicago, Vancouver, and Florida thou.

Cheers

If Naslund doesn't resign in Vancouver then we might be forced to trade Bertuzzi as I heard he doesn't want to play here if Naslund isn't here.
And I don't think Sakic is unrestricted. Nonnis is going to have a tough job and I don't know about his trading abilities. Burke was a good manager but made a lot of shitty trades.

Couldn't agree with you more on KYG,

Burke did a lot of crappy trades, the only good trade was the Bure trade for Jovo...and like it or not, the Sedins twin trade took a lot of tricks to pull off, the end results of coarse was not as great as we hoped. All the other trades, what the hell was Burke thinking of

With that being said, if all Owners had a "Burke" on their team...we would not need a salary cap...Burke stood his ground on what each players are worth, and not a penny more....Major out cry from fans in Vancouver when Klatt left for LA, but you gotta draw the line somewhere….while other teams signs a “Bobby Holik” at stupid numbers….forcing other teams to pay their players similar numbers (with similar stats).

One major thing that can save Naslund and Bert, is if Canucks wins the lottery draw for the draft pick……if Naslund sees Crosby is coming to the Canucks he will sign. It’s a all or nothing situation……not much Canucks can offer to keep both, except for Norris firing Marc Crawford…which would make Bert happy, and Brian Burke too. Not too many good coaches out there, I don’t think that will happen.

Let’s see what unfold the next few weeks….it’s going to be interesting.

Cheers

and Can Neely had a big injury history and wasn't a good trade for Vancouver but a great one for Boston.

one of the biggest and seldom addressed problem for all western teams is the shit schedule they get ... and the awful travel ... they should make those weak sissy eastern teams do the travel and let the western teams play more home games.

but if bert goes to boston, he would become an instant power-impact player just because of the reduction in travel ... and with home in Ontario now he could see the family more often.
