Benefits of Covid 19 Pandemic

It's also save me tons of money on pooning. Not that, that is a good thing. LOL!!
I take my risk with one sp, She's a local and we do not do full service.
Whether that's preventitave of covid or not is another question.
But it certainly reduces my risk of seeing many other Sp's.
Boring as that may be it's part of the sacrifices needed to live in pandemic times.

So having done that and looking over the past few months of just seeing that one SP,
I've come to the conclusion that it ain't so bad and I haven't contracted Covid yet
and what the fuck I said to myself, Junior's happy so what the hell eh? LOL!!

Just got tested two weeks ago and all clear. Man that's a bitch of a test when they
shove that chop stick length swab way up your sinus and spin it around for a count
of ten. CHRIST!!!!!

My advice to people is too heed the governments advice, and load a sheet of drywall into your pick-up....and carry a cordless drill, and a hole saw with you at all times.
Better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it at all.....

Better old folks home care, better training, wages, benifit packages. evern union ize the old folks home to get better care. (Yes I know that unions sit around with their thumbs up their asses-usually only 7% do that).
2 years medical service in Armed forces. (good place to help out will be the old folks homes)
long term use of non renewalable resources
long term use of renewable resources. garabage and recycling of all plastics etc.

You see our society has got to stop making young people believe that they can do anything. I know this sounds wrong, but there are certain places in society that we need people to work at (cleaning, dangerous jobs etc) that nobody wants to get into.

The question is how do you do all this without violating people's rights..

Why do you think immigration is such a big part of the North American tapestry? Not a justification. It's just a necessity for society to get those jobs filled.

I know of a couple who both "work in Toronto", but have recently moved back to Winnipeg. They have bought a nice house with a lovely yard 15 min from downtown. That was impossible in Toronto for less than a couple of million plus. They still have the same jobs without any disruption. Covid and WFH will change things in huge and as yet unforeseeable ways for years to come.

This year flu cases are down dramatically because most are physical distancing and wearing a mask with no large crowds allowed. That's one positive of Covid.

Another that is not so important is that there are no lineups for restaurants. I've been going out to eat a lot more because of fewer patrons and the restaurants are generally cleaner nowadays.

Really late to the table on this thread but just browsing and found it. So I am cheating what with hind sight from the OP's original post.

A couple of pluses amongst the many deaths and changed lives that I can see for me at any rate:

- I have not had a cold, flu, any illness of any kind since my last trip in early Dec 19 to San Diego (which is still one of the awesome places anywhere but that is a different topic).
- my cooking, wood working and gardening skills are finely honed now and I have a myriad of great pix from the yard cam I set up to get pix of the squirrels eating at the mini squirrel picnic table I made.
- my work had me traveling at least a long trip a month and at least one short one. I can say unequivocally I do NOT miss business travel. At all. To the point where fuck if I am going to go back to that again.
- with no holiday, live music, bar/lounge and very minimal restaurant outings, I opened up a couple of new investment accounts and am quite happy seeing the numbers there!!
- related to a more global plus, a LOT of shit has come out of the mix, including how we as a society view elder care homes. The real plus will be if we actually do something to fix it.
- and from the deep negative to what I sure hope will be a positive, Canada needs to invest and not minimally, into vaccine development and manufacturing, as well as PPE manufacturing. When a company like 3M who makes N95 masks, gets an order from government to not export their product, when the core element comes from just outside of Nanaimo, that is a kick to the nuts that cannot be ignored.
- and finally, with zoom calls with my kids, whereas before it was txts or whatsapp messages, those relationships have become a bit more special which is really nice.
