Since Bell Mobility's service is so abominable, I wish to cancel my bell mobility telephone and I have just been told that there is a $299.00 penalty PER PHONE (I have three mobile phones)

What to do.. methinks just not pay them and suffer the wrath on my credit report....? Could be the only way....

Any thoughts, considerations would be appreciated

Bell Mobility Sucks

Service in so far as my phone not telling me when there are messages, repoirting to people that my mail box is full even though there are no messages in it etc.

Hmmm, anyone interested in three cell phones with completely shitty service?? After I've run them down in here I am not sure anyone would want them.

PS I cancelled the credit card before I alerted Bell Mobility that I wanted to cancel my account.

Easy Now

It could just be your handset. There are some known problems with voice mail notification with some phones.
Tell me which one(s) you have and I can look into it.

Mr. D - I am not that familiar with Canadian law but common sense would say if you have a contract and they are not providing the service then you should not have to pay.

Second, my provider allows me to change the level of service any time I want during the contract. Can you reduce your service to the absolute minimum and then stop using it?

Yes

Yes he can....

I suspect he has not had a really good operator and when that happens, it appears as though all of the CSR's are crap. Anyway, if he tells me whats going on I just might be able to help him out on this one... ;)

Don't do it.

As mad as you are about their service and apparent lack of support, you'd be making a bigger mistake by defaulting on your payments. Not only would you be facing a bad credit report, but you'd have to deal with a collection agency.

Known Issues

I took a look into the database and there are no known problems with said handset and v mail notification.

You can take a look here for any issues that may already be known, or post your issue and I am sure you will get a reply.

If you want to PM me give me the numbers that are having problems, I can take a look at your profile if you like.

Phone

The problem is with your phone. I had that phone with bell as well, and had the same problems, a friend of mine has those problems with that phone too. I traded mine for their samsung phone and have no problems now. I think it is $200 a line to disconnect. I am not happy with bell either. They told me they had per second billing and they dont. Bastards. They gave me a cpl hundred more day time minutes to try and keep me happy.

Samsung

I agree, Samsung is by far the better phone. That is all I have used for the last couple of years. They are great.

It is too bad nobody had said anything, or somehow the message is not getting sent to the people that build, operate and optimized the network and its associated peripherals.

Anyway, good luck, and let me know if I can assist in any way.
