Beauty is in the nose of the beholder

I recently read that women are more turned on/off by the sense of smell than any other sense. (As opposed to men where visual stimulus rules the day).

Then it struck me like a ton of bricks when I jumped into an elevator with what I'd otherwise consider a hottie - too much perfume is a major turn-off! I mean I hate B/O as much as the next person but this perfume was like an assault on the senses - I could barely breathe!

I appreciate some people (particularly guys) feel they ripen over the course of a day so need something to offset this, but come-on. Take another shower if it's that bad/ use some talc maybe. Personally I find the fresh smell of someone out of the shower way better than any artificial sweetener.

So what's the consensus for both guys/gals - au naturel or a little help from the labs?

Have you never gone down a really nice lady, and been assaulted by the strong odor of raw fish? That for me is the worst. I can go from hot to cold in about one wiff.

I also prefer a fresh smell to too much perfume. Because I have very slight allergies, the wrong kind of perfume can actually make my eyes water and get me all stuffed up. Not fun when on a date. A discreet amount of a nice scent tho can be really nice.

Oh I hear ya and agree 100%! Although I point out that no amount of perfume is going to cover that up - hit the showers damn it!

Acquired Taste

I think one acquires a taste and smell for vagina. When I was younger I didn't like the taste and smell of cognac liver pate, but now I could have it as a main course. Same with vagina.

Not sure about that. My first time going down on a woman she had to force me back up 5 O's & some 10-30 mins down the line (wasn't really watching the time).

Which was exactly my point, thanks bigdman. I LOVE the smell of a fresh clean vagina, and truly never want to leave till the girl says ok enough. One SP I could name but won't wondered if I was going to spend my entire hour down there, I was enjoying myself so much! :) She kept saying "hey ... mmm ... you're paying me ... mmmm .. I'm beginning to feel guilty!" It was funny and became an inside joke.

I don't know whether its all cleanliness ... I've had one girl tell me the secret is in the diet ... but some vaginas just do NOT smell good. I've been lucky tho, and have only encountered one SP where I took one wiff and decided that DATY was not on my menu for that session.

Fresh smell, I think if you are going to put time and energy into choosing perfume, better to use it on buying a soap that suits your body type (different people react differently to smells...so get something that works with your natural odor..), and laundry detergent...nice fresh clothes....yummy! A little dab of a non-obtrusive perfume is ok too....just not too much and not in places where I am going to kiss. I don't spray perfume on my tongue and don't want to lick it either.
