Pythy must have heard about this...
There is a remote tribe of poligamistic Indians in Utah that not too many people have heard about. They have a very successful Casino, which gives them the ability to be very philantropic, and the Chief decided many moons ago to sponsor some poor African tribes.
On one visit to one of these tribes, the Chief was presented with two bedrolls, one made of Rhinocerous hide for him, and one of Hippopotamus hide for his wife. It was the tribes greatest status symbols, these hides, and only the Chief and his wife are allowed to use them.
Well, after some confusing discussion and a startled translator, it was conveyed that the Chief actually had 3 wives. His African hosts debated in an animated hail of clicks, pops and hiccups, and finally one ran out of the hut, returning with two more hides. These, it was explained, were water buffalo hides, almost the same status as Hippopotamus, but not quite. They hoped that these would do for his other wives. He graciously accepted, and then returned to Utah.
Upon arriving home, he gathered his extended family and presented the gifts. The Hippo hide to his first wife, and the waterbuffalo hides to the others. Until now, the three wives had been treated as equals, but suddenly, there was a tangible order to the squaws position in the tribe.
Each of the wives had bore the Chief sons, and all of these sons were now in thier late teens. The sons of the two younger squaws saw how the change in status had affected thier mothers, and they were not pleased. One evening, as the two were walking about thier camp, they saw the older squaw walking by herself, and they approached her to voice their disapproval of the way thier mothers were being discriminated against.
Well, the older woman was a tough old bird, and she was not about to let these boys talk to her in that manner, and she decided to teach them a lesson. So she started to give them a good old fashioned butt kicking. The boys fought back, but the wiley old squaw always seemed to find a way to out think them, or out manouver them. Her years of experience were a match for thier youth and numbers. After almost 20 minutes of back and forth, they halted, exhausted and declared the tussle a draw.
But we should have seen that coming, as any learned person knows, the squaw on the hippopotamus is equal the sons of the squaws on the other two hides....
