Im mixed on the issue...
on one hand...its not cool that people are taking the law into their own hands.
Even though it seems like the cops havent done much for the people lately, its not a good idea to encourage vigilante activity.
On the other hand...this mofo deserves to get shitkicked; I myself have had my car stolen before.

That's wrong, it's nothing more then road rage. It was after the fact that it came out that he was a car thief. The guy who beat him into a coma did so because he got into an accident with him, not because the car was stolen. Imagine if you were a victim of road rage and it came out after the fact that you visited MPs or were a prostitute, what does that have to do with anything, other than now some people loath you? Judge not...you know the rest.

What Dakota said. I haven't read all of the articles pertaining to it, but I get the impression that the Winnipeg Sun has been sensationalizing this story to downplay the road rage bit in favor of the car thieving that surfaced after the fact.
This guy is not just a car thief, he is a hard core violent criminal, member of a violent street gang that pimps teenage girls and has multiple car theft and drug dealing convictions.Jail had no effect on his behaviour.

While people are getting hard-ons over some punk car thief getting the living shit nearly whacked out of him, the fact is these people are being short sighted. They forget the obvious fact that when the other guy took a baseball bat to him it was completely unknown to the assailant that his victim was a car thief. What is truly sad about the support for this bat swinging fuck-up is his voilence is roundly condoned only AFTER his supporters learned just who the victim is. Take that last bit of info away and I seriously doubt these people cheering on the bat swinging moron would be so supportive. It was road rage. Not that some how the guy knew the other person was a car thief. As much as I would like to see the law come down on the car thief, I would like to see them come down hard on the shithead with a bat.
Lastly what is scary is the fucker with a bat is a goddamn rent-a-cop. So here is a security guard who gets into an car accident thanks to some other person and the security guard beats the fucking crap out of the other driver. All without knowing who or what the driver is. This time the victim turned out to be a car thief, just who hell will be next time? Some innocent person?

It's really two separate stories. The guy with the bat had no way of knowing that the guy he bashed was a car thief and gangbanger. It could just as easily have been me that he bashed. It was a road rage incident, and he committed a violent crime. Do I condone his actions? No fuckin' way!

Not true. It may have been immediately apparent that the thief was a gang member. The security guard would have knowledge of gang uniforms and insignia that you do not. Most gangs have forms of identifying themselves to each other that civilians would not know about. And a lot of members are well known. He may have thought he was up shit creek and in that case, it's a matter of getting the first shot in or you're toast.Avery said:

i opened up a can of worms with this one.myself i tend to take avery stand from last post do not feel sorry for either one.ITs ironic that if i had to much to drink and was driving along and somone came out of nowhere and tboned me it would be my fault. just because i was drunk and therefore shouldn't of been there. i guess if he hadn't stole car he would not have been there either.

just stop and think before you even hit a nother person .. one blow .. in the wrong place . an a person is dead .. or in a coma.. or parilised for life.

If you are attacked defend your self with every thing it take .. but don;t attack others if they are not laying any violance on others or you .
