Yes, Buck is a wonderful back-up but he struggled in the game before this one. He got real happy feet when he was getting a big rush and Buono had to go to DD. If the line blocks like they can (and Bobby Singh comes back), they can win with either one ... no need for Printers. Casey is an egotistical jerk with huge talent. Get something for him and don't ruin team chemistry.LonelyGhost said:they may have to win it all with Buck! the good thing is that Buck
is basically 'Dave-lite' so there is no drastic change on offense when
he plays ... the consistency is helping the O-line develop a better
pocket and protection, but it still does 'leak' at times ... thankfully,
Buck has some mobility and doesn't panic about having to scramble.
The 'unknown' is what Buono will do ... he is known for bad decisions
under pressure (witness last two seasons) but has been showing a
tendency to make fast changes when the plan isn't working (including
dumping good players who aren't performing).
Big Q is what to do with Casey??? Lions hold his CFL rights ... do they
really want him back on the team even if they don't dress him?
Along the same lines my Paul Tracy thread I'm just happy the Lions (and Stamps and Argo's) have made the Al's their bitchgood2bbad said:They demolished Montreal last night
Couldn't agree with more about Ricky Williams and pals. Printers got cut today by the chefs, saw it coming they were lousey last year will be the same this yeargravitas said:Along the same lines my Paul Tracy thread I'm just happy the Lions (and Stamps and Argo's) have made the Al's their bitchSo a great big FUCK YOU to that keister spike Don Matthews.
About the only ones in the CFL I can't stand more than that arrogant prick is Ricky Williams and the Argo assholes who signed him. What a stupid fucking move.
The Lions brain trust did a lot of that in the early 70's, getting rid of guys like Highbaugh, Tom Wilkinson, Ron Estey, who became the backbone of the Esks. I'm guessing it came down to a few bucks, or a difference in talent evaluation. The Lions managed fourth or fifth in the West throughout the first half of the 70's.totravel said:About Larry Highbaugh, he started his career with the Lions in '71, going to the Eskimos midway through the '72 season, winning 6 out of his 9 Cup games. (Another might-have-been for the Lions, why couldn't they hold on to him?)

Dickenson may not be one for running a lot up field with the ball, but he's far from being a statue type QB. There are 2 types of mobile QB's, those who do most of their running in the backfield avoiding the rush to buy time and those like who often run up field as well as around the backfield.totravel said:I have been a CFL fan first, NFL second since 1970. I was only 8 years old, and just getting interested in football. I can still remember the great Grey Cups of the '70s, the NFL has always struck me as too static, predictable. It's a shame the States didn't adopt OUR game.
About DD, I hate to say it, but he is way too injury prone. I think his style of play, no mobility, hanging on to the ball too long, not wanting to throw INT's, makes him too vulnerable. Pierce is impressing me more with every game he's in. He's playing with lots more confidence now.
No way will Printers be back with the Lions, it's more likely he'll end up staying on the Chiefs practice roster. If not, the Lions will have no trouble dealing him.
At the end of this season, they lose his rights anyway, ending the saga once and for all.
