What a sad sack team the Lions have fieded this year.

One win this season - and that was only because of a last second mistake by Toronto.

They signed star QB Mike Reilly, then forgot about the rest of the team. He's been a punching bag all season getting sacked about 5-6 times a game.

And does head coach Devone Claybrooks look like he could inspire anyone? From his always crooked cap, to his blank eyes and slack-jaw, he looks more mentally challenged than able to challenge anyone to do better mentally.

Shows how important Wally Buono was.

Even Team 1040 who calls the play by play has stopped cutting any slack. Words like pathetic are commonly used.

I haven’t watched an entire quarter this year. I used to watch every game

Season ticket holder for 18 years...you learn to take the good with the bad.
We will get over this, maybe not this year.
To quote that famous hockey player..."it is what it is"

In softness, strength.
I would still watch cfl anyday than patronize the nfl.
Diehard Lions fan here and will always be. What I wouldn't give to have a Swervin"
Mervin Fernandez, Lou Pasaglia, Geroy Simon all hooked up together with Roy Dewalt.

They were MAGIC!!!!!!

Heh, heh at least our Lions have brought home the greycup a few times unlike the 50th
season no cup canucks.
Having said all that the Lions are starting from rock bottom. I wish them luck cuz
they gonna need it all. The rest of the CFL is extremely exciting to watch as great games
have been played throughout the season so far. Very entertaining.

Beverly Hills. In the Kitchen eatin' vittles.
They don't have the players to put together a full 60 minutes.
Aside for their bad O-Line play their defence is terrible this year and the offensive play calling is questionable at best.
There are so many ways to compensate for a poor O-line and take the heat off Reilly. They start off doing these things but soon go away from them. Often it is because they are behind but the CFL is set up to allow for scoring even with little time left. They go away from their game plan way too soon and then the opposition starts to feast on Reilly.
That said, my one criticism of Reilly, who I think is a STUD, is he hangs on to the ball too long. Because he's bigger than most LB's in the CFL he can take a hit. Thus he thinks he can withstand getting hit if it means making the completion. That's not working for him this year.

The game in Wpg the other night is a perfect example of their season.
Start off okay, even have a lead (albeit a small one). Then BOOM! An interception and blocked punt and suddenly they are down 16 points.
Now they are behind and the other team's D just pins their ears back and comes after Reilly.
Reilly looks demoralized.

Cheers

I wasn’t a Wally fan at the end as I thought the game had passed him by. He is missed though. Not just his knowledge of the game but the respect and “fear” he instilled in his players. They new if they didn’t perform there was no loyalty, they’d be gone and replaced in a second. No bs. This team is missing that. Too many individual agenda and non conformity.

Wally was also supported by great bird dogs, Roy Shivers and Bob O’Billovich, were the best scouts out there. Wally needed a player change, they’d find a player for him. Many were hidden gems.

The good news though, it’s the CFL, rebuilding can be done in one season. This one is dead though.

What a joke of a team. Ed Harvey deserves to be fired. You make the playoffs last year and then blow up your team. Totally makes sense right?
