Have you ever bartered with an sp.

I did last week for a couple of Jet's ticket's and she paid her bill on Thursday and last night. Not a bad why of doing business.

It started when I received a text from a retired sp last week. She was wanting to caught up so we decided to go for dinner. About a half hour into dinner she asked if I still had my Jet's season tickets. Apparently one of her family members loves to go to Jet's games but the tickets for good seats are a little out of there price range. So I was offered two separate sessions for two tickets to an up coming game. After dinner we head back to my condo and completed the first half of our deal. Last night we completed the second half. I think I kind of like the barter system. lol

I have done non cash deals at their suggestion.
Never bartered or offered stuff in exchange for services.
I would only do it if it was their idea.

Beverly Hills. In the Kitchen eatin' vittles.
Glad it worked out well for you. And you scored more than the Jets did. LOL!
I would only if it was the right SP. It would have to be someone you trust just like any transaction. Personally I could count on 2 fingers the number of SP's I would be comfortable doing this with.

And that is not necessarily a knock against SP's but based on my experience in my business career. In the early days of my career I belonged to a couple of local business associations where the barter system was used amongst the members. I can easily say that only once did the other party (an HVAC guy) properly compensated me for services I provided them.
That is why to this day I never barter or do business with family or friends.

That said. I wonder what I could get for my Moose tickets. LOL! Maybe a HJ down at the Mount Royal. ;)

Yes, I also never do business with family or friends. It's either I doing something for them to help out or I am not. The fact that these where nearly 200.00 tickets and that I was getting my end of the deal before I handed over the tickets was a big plus. However with that said I had seen this lady a number of times in the past with no problems.

I wonder: if one does barter and no money is exchanged, does it become legal? After all we've all paid for a nice dinner at night out for a little putang at the end of the evening and no laws were broken. And if so, does any SP's need their car repaired? Cause I got a tool that will fix anything....

The new law uses the word "commodification".
Money or any other consideration is the same thing.

I am an amateur photographer and have done a few photo shoots for SPs, some they have paid me in cash, some as an exchange of services. Can we all say "win-win"!?

Your comment reminded me of an episode of Manswers that aired a number of years ago. The question that was explored was how can someone beat a LE sting operation. The answer was quite surprising to me: You don't negotiate services, rather you hire potential sp's for a nude photo shoot. Apparently, it ins't against the law and no charges can be brought forward. I find this rather interesting...

I have to say I am really enjoying bartering my Jet's ticket for sp services. In my case I should say X sp. I made another trade over the holiday's for my PP tickets with a friend of my first tickets for services barter and it could have worked any better. Details when I get a little more time.

You had sex with an HVAC guy?

Of all the SP's that I have talked to they had said that they are very annoyed at the clients that like to barter or haggle on their rates.

I would never even try to bargain with an SP on her rate because it is a sign of disrespect which will get you blacklisted by them.

If you can not afford to pay her rates than you obviously need to go budget fuck someone with low rates.

I don't think anyone is talking about low balling or haggling rates here. This thread is about bartering. In my case the lady approached me and wanted to trade her skills for a couple of very nice seats. We both agreed, that why she sent me one of her friends.

Agreed. Nobody was talking about haggling. Funny how people don't always read everything before commenting.

Giving up Jets tickets to an SP in exchange for her services is laughable.
What is next offering Canadian Tire money and bus fare.

I am also saying that besides bartering there are people that low ball these SPs and they fucking hate it.

Bartering and low balling are the same in my opinion.

I have, when it was my idea in the first place. Now where it goes sideways if some no name approaches me like that, I ain't got time for that!
Ain't nobody got time for that!

I'm the same way. I might OFFER to barter if a gentleman who has seen me in the past has a skill I particularly need, or a certain green comestible. I don't ever accept unsolicited offers of trade.

bar·ter:exchange (goods or services) for other goods or services without using money.
Too bad your opinion isn't reality.
They aren't the same.
I know of one long standing SP that traded her services for that of a plumber, carpenter, and electrician.
She actually initiated the barter.
Nobody here is trying to give less value, which would be low balling in my opinion.
An SP who wants Jets tickets and is willing to swap is laughable? Why is that?
Don't have jets tickets?
Comparing to Canadian Tire money and bus fare isn't even close to the same.
We all know that SP's "fucking hate" negotiators, but that isn't the same thing.
This isn't negotiation. It is a swap of one service for another.
