Approximately every three to four months I travel to Phoenix for a short break. There are lots of barbershops that do a straight razor shave. I have tried two different places and have had it done four times. It is incredibly close. Has anyone else tried this? Is there any place in Alberta that does this?

Classic Barber Shop, Edmonton is the only place in Alberta as far as i know. Appointment required, but it is a treat.
I go to a place in Spruce Grove, it isn't a traditional barbershop but most of the employees are men. I can sometimes have 4 guys working on me, a shave, a cut, waxing and plucking. The guy who does the plucking uses an old fashioned method with dental floss, it is very effective. I can get pretty hairy after a few weeks in the bush. 
That is actually pretty close to how it goes lol.
The first time I went there I was amazed and so impressed with the service and attention that I told my wife excitedly about it when I got home. She of course asked me how much I tipped them, and I was like umm, it's 20 bucks....I just tipped my usual 2 bucks. Well she was disgusted with me! The next day she went in and met the guys, apologized for me lol, and tipped them each 10 bucks. So yeah, they are always happy to see me and start buzzing about, chattering on in Lebanese or something, I worry a little hehehe, but they are great and always joke and rib me. I tip them each 2 bucks now, and they plead with me to bring my wife along next time. It's hilarious!
I haven't been to an actual barbershop in years. I pay more than twice as much to my hairdresser for a haircut as you do BTBF, and although she occasionally trims my eyebrows there is no shave or ear trimming. Gotta do those on my own.
I do enjoy her cleavage when she leans over me as she's washing my hair tho. That alone makes her good VFM!
