Sometimes it's just nice to be spontaneous and go hit a professional. I prefer to have a relationship based on more than cash but what can you do.

Bars are a fickle scene. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. I'm attractive but not really the in your face with the pick-up lines kinda guy. If I happen to be able to talk with someone and get them to laugh and have a good conversation with them then I usually get a number. These bars are rare and I'm usually at a club where it's make a quick impression in a loud place or move on and that is not what I am into.

Bars these days seem more to be to meet dates, not getting laid immediately. Dates = cash money (as was pointed out earlier) but can lead to something steady.

totally agreed with Cali Scott....don't think picking up a "HOT" chick would be that easy unless its worth it (ie. gf materia + possible chemistry)...since they usually come with their chaperons/friends..plus the real hotties r usually taken or hard to impressive.. ..but if u r looking at those "slightly bigger" lonley girls..then its different story..but still...a pro is in better shape


btw, anyone knows good singles pick-up bars???

Last week I hooked up on a first date with some girl at sky bar and we just caught a movie and dinner at Cronos and the whole thing didn't even cost me 60 bux..... the most expensive date was around 200 and thats was on valentines day....I believe when you take out a girl and spend too much money on her during dates....its a turn off with women because they think you are trying to impress them with money...Thats why I usually take them to quite places...

$150 doesn't go very far. I don't know about this cheap place called Cronos but if you go to a casual place like the Keg, $150 is about average. We aren't talking about Mortons or Gotham yet.

I have an additional reason why the bar scene sucks for me. I am a nice guy. I treat women with respect. Women who hang out in bars and go home with guys they meet at those bars do not go home with nice guys. Women who like being picked up in bars go home with bad boys, assholes, and women haters. Good guys have no chance in that arena. I gave up on it years ago.

That's true and not true. Women are attracted to bad boys, but in the long run, they want to be with a good boy who can also be a bad boy... if that makes sense.

I'm all for treating women with respect, but in the bedroom, many women like to be treated like a whore, the reverse of what they get in real life. In the last 12 months, I tried hit on at least 100 girls in clubs. I got about 40 phone numbers, out of the 40 about 10 of them is just a head game stuff, they give you the numbers or the hints but they dont mean to give you the oppunities, they are playing us around.

Well, another 6 to 7 does go home with me after I buy them drinks for her and her f=cking friends.

well another say 10 of them are romantic headaches, they hook you up and keep you interested. An event night with dinner, drinks, transportation, little gifts, cool cothes, tax.. etc do work out to around $175 a night. after a few dates you know that they are a no no ......

The last 10 is purely, turns into friends type, you got their number, you are freind with them but just no way to start any opportunites.

Well, to myself, the time, the anticipation, the stress, the money does not work out at all. By the way, I do have hot chicks freinds that purposely go out and let the guy hit on them to use up their wallet and twist their brain out. As my friend said "accidentally give the guys some boobs and a few kisses, you hook them up for months."

That's been my philosophy all along, but less so these days. It's been several years since I met someone at a bar who I ended dating, and it's been even longer since I picked up a one-nighter at a club. But for the most part, my failures to pick up someone at a bar always led me to a SP.

There are some problems with my scoring at a bar:

1) I've never been a playa, so I usually end up standing around and watching along with the rest of the losers. Or I end up being the wingman for a drinking buddy who is a playa - if he's chatting up some chick then I have to chat up her friend so that she doesn't cockblock - but sometimes that can work in my favor, especially if the potential cockblocker is attractive. Sometimes I get hit on by some drunk chick, but she usually has the attention span of a brain-damaged gerbil.

2) most of the bars in my town are full of children who are unable to handle their liquor. In such a crowd, an old fart like me sticks out like a gangrened thumb. And at my age, trying to score with some 19-year-old mall Britneyette is really not very cool.

3) I'm not a bad-looking guy and I have a great career that keeps me financially secure, and yet I seem fail on some of the average Edmonton woman's requirements, such as being over 6 feet tall, having a full head of hair, being a jock and driving some bohemeth.

I don't really rely on the bar scene anymore. I find dates and potential girlfriends elsewhere. And if I just want some sex, there's plenty of SPs around.

I have had a few combo nights Not two on the track just 1sp and 1 Bar pickup. when I go into the City I like to go see a sp first to get it out of my System and than I go to the Bar and relax and not try to pick up, this is when i seem to score the most is when i'm not looking
