Congratulations to Edmonton's finest for only taking six months in busting these two young ladies who were apparently a threat to our community.

Meanwhile all the gang members, drug dealers, car jackers, etc, are allowed to continue with buisness as usual.

At least the EPS is on the ball when it comes to catching the worst criminal of all. The driver going 20 Kilometres over the speed limit on the Whitemud!!

They probably could avoided it altogether with two things: buy protection from the city in the form of independent escort licenses and not operated out of a house. Two younger sps in a house is just really stupid. Anyone setting up in a house, or as a client, going to a house setup is just really stupid. LE investigates from complaints, having numerous men coming and going day and night is going to be noticed by neighbours and assumed drug dealing, and next thing you know, 6 months of stakeouts taking down your license plate numbers and taking pics.

For your information, the two ladies in question were operating with an escort license, and were NOT operating out of a house, but an apartment building.
So I guess that blows your theory all to hell, doesn't it.

All in order to take down two SPs trying to make a living and doing no one any harm. A good waste of taxpayers money don't you think? Good job EPS!!!

Having some discussion with a couple of ladies over the years makes me really quite confused over this. My understanding is that the MP's have a very close relationship with Vice.

Vice are even helpful regarding any instances and or suggestions they give to the ladies to keep things relatively low key regarding the business and activiies within the parlors themselves.

Having said that it does seem another side of the law is on a mission to stamp out the actions of exactly the same services when performed outside the MP's.

I am not versed on the whole legal definition of escorts services, where they can be performed etc. What are the ramifications of an escort (licensed) who performs her services within a home, condo, whatever on a regular basis and in fact along with a roommate doing the same thing?

I can understand any residential community complaining of ongoing traffic regardless of the type of activity (it could be a hair stylist) so does it all boil down to a business operating out of a home that is not zoned for a businees operation or what?

If the ladies have their escort license, what do the governing bodies think they actually do for a living and once again, where are they allowed to offer the services they agree on with their clients legally?

Just wondering!!!!

I can`t help but wonder if the two ladies involved are popular independent SPs who operate their own incalls. That would be the bad news because I`d like to see the same thriving indy scene we can find in other cities. The MPs need healthy competition. I`m all for LE busting the sex slave traders and the scam artists (esp people like her), but they should leave the licensed SPs alone.

I`m pretty sure I know who they are (since I`ve been there twice in the past), and damn, it sucks. I think one of them was in school too and she mentioned she was planning on retiring soon...now she`ll probably have a record.

The community is now so much safer that they are charged right? Oh yeah, how`s that homicide count going EPS? Are we 25 or 26 now?

The OP's theory, or my theory. Someone found them someway, and indiscretion is the obvious one.

And indiscretion can be just having enough clients walking the halls of an apartment complex for the neighbors to notice & pass on their concern. The SPs don`t have to be noisy or say anything out of line to anyone, just get noticed by a nosy neighbor who starts paying attention & getting concerned about what is going on in what is their home building.
This whole thing just stinks! Wolvie and Trawler are right. This is really Bad News for all SPs and pooners! And for what? These 2 young women`s lives ruined and who did they really hurt? Absolutely no one! I wish them luck!

What a waste, on every level!

Anyone know what the worst case scenario would be? Like, would they really get jail time for this?

Jailtime is always a possibility with criminal charges but in most of these cases has not been the case, especially for a 1st offence. But if they are convicted, it's a permanent criminal record for prostitution. That would just be tragic for these two beautiful young women. Like I already said, what a waste!

Let's be honest here, they will be convicted, unless they plea and get some sort of deal. What a shame too, when I talked to one of them a few months ago, she mentioned she planned on retiring in July of this year. Now, her chances of getting "regular" employment is probably fucked.

I was downtown this evening, felt really safe with the drug pushers operating out in the open.

I know who they are as well and it's a shame :(

As for the homicide rate, well they do have to break at least one record this year.

I do not live in Alberta and do not know how the bylaws and law works there for SP's. However I really do think it is a waste of tax payers dollars to spend 6 months on 2 women providing (in my opinion) a service to gentlemen. My god they are a real threat to society...lol, I think not. It pisses me off to see stuff like this, yet we still have our drug dealers selling to our children, taking advantage of those addicted, we still have our grow ops and murders. Scammers and drunk drivers. These are the people that are a threat to society these are the people that will hurt us or loved ones.

I wish these ladies all the best.

Would anyone mind sharing the "working names" of the two girls involved?

The article does mention their 'real' names, but in PERB we always refer to their working names.

So whats the safest way to see an SP in Edmonton? Go to an MP or have the Gal come to you? I am pretty new to this but in Calgary a couple of SP's I have seen at their private locations say they do it that way cause it is safer for them than working at a MP, meaning fewer problems with LE.

Think of it: Would you, yourselves, want to be living in a housing/apartment complex out of which an SP worked with strange men coming and going any less than you'd want to share an arrangement in which drug dealers were involved, especially if you had children?

Any time! Your statement is just as prejudiced as saying, let a black person move into the building and it'll attract drug dealers, or let those two gay guys move in and soon you'll have all kinds of perverts in the building. I find your statement disgusting.

Now if you moved into my building you just might attract a busload of intolerant like minded fascists..... There goes the neighborhood!
