Well you guys would know better than I would... unfortunately my farm experience is rather small.
I just figure that the whole urban chicken/coop thing would have been or would be very unpopular if the result was a stinky neighborhood...
That's just what I'm assuming.
Especially in this city where everyone likes to complain about what the neighbor's doing that might remind them that *gasp* they're not living on an island by themselves...
I'd assume the whole stinky chicken issue would be pretty big and it would not have taken very long for some grouch (the self appointed neighborhood whiner - you know you all have one of those) to get them to shut the whole thing down.
So I'd expect that in reality, it's probably not all that bad if cleaned well and often.
But also... wouldn't a couple chickens in their roomy coop produce smell more manageable than a few dozens crammed in close quarters, likely with poor ventilation?
I really want some chickens now!
btw - roosters are not allowed. lol
