Suppose to be Backpage and all it’s affiliates. CEO was supposed to be arrested in conjunction to seiures of everything.
The laws made to protect against exploiting minors and to stop trafficking (slave trade).
Bill C-36 and this latest bill from the US has basically cut into SW ability to advertise themselves openly.
There was an article where a (Calgary) Police officer was saying that with backpage, they got a heads up from the company if there was a possibility of underage SW or trafficking involved. Now backpage is not there and any hints of minors and trafficking have been driven underground.
Not long ago the US passed a bill on net neutrality, giving the owners exclusive rights to stop/slow down significantly; information flowing into their internet systems. Which can prevent that information making it to the joe public.
But the question I always asked myself, why the fake adds on backpage? Rip off artists?

RIP to backpages! Unfortunately it was getting to the point that most of the ads were fake. It was getting so difficult figuring out the legit ads. Perhaps a better backpages will appear in it’s wake!

Not in areas like Edmonton, where walk-in massage studios used it to advertise their businesses, customer appreciation days and other specials, new girls etc...The studios in Ed (Legends, Jaileys, Secret Spa, The Office, Elite, Passions, Supreme and many others) are one of a kind and relied on BP for advertising. They still have Adoxsi.
I agree with you. Backpage was good because it kept a large number of scams and cons and upsells in one place.
And it automatically posted to other sites, which are likely next? I think escort babylon was one of the sites that Backpage posted to. My ads were on there and I only ever posted on Backpage
Good. Backpage was pretty much a waste of trash. Useless fake pics. All the reason to stick with the ladies who jump onto Perb, and who are always on Perb. Way more viable.
it's not really good.....it disrupts peoples income and safety....i think it's a tragedy....i recently gave testimony to another federal government human trafficking study and ol' joy smith was all about shutting down everywhere we run ads including backpage....
i believe the fed's will decrim sex work but might...if unchecked...do something stupid and dangerous based on fighting human trafficking....
i have challenged joy smith's credibility via the available channels and hope that we can undermine her fight to destroy our community and cast us out onto the street....
i hope we can stop her but people in charge and blinded by the sad stories and tragedy porn which always seems to dominate these conversations. we are either greedy money hungry home wreckers or damaged victims who don't know what's best for us....
just once, i would like them acknowledge that the majority of us a middle class working people who just want to pay our bills and feed our families...

In the last couple of days, has anyone else notice a large increase in guest numbers here on Perb? Usually, guest numbers are under 600. Now, during peak day hours it shows over 1000 guests. Yesterday I noticed 1600+ !!

I'm actually really sad. This is going to make it so much more dangerous for young girls..and boys
First it was Craigslist, but they voluntarily closed the erotic services section, which is probably why that site is still around. Until cl did that, backpage had very little traffic. There are other sites where sps can advertise for cheap or free.
