Not that I have used Backpage much before, but is it no longer available in Canada?

Or is it my US IP that's blocking it?

You must be blocked. I was viewing the Vancouver page earlier this afternoon.

I suspect we were doing the same research

VPN is an option I suppose. Funny I have to use one to do some business in the US.

Backpage uses GeoIP detection and is auto redirecting you to a specific page. You’re not being blocked until CESTA passes anyway.

When I try to get on BP in the USA it gets blocked or ??? really pisses me off
US girls are now posting their ads on BP at Women looking for Men...
You cant log on to Vancouver BP...

When I was in Phoenix and tried to logon to BP in Vancouver it directed me to the Phoenix site.

Also, all I am seeing now is the phone number on the listings page. I am surprised someone in Canada hasn't offered an alternative to Backpage in the US. Great though that Backpage hasn't made any changes for the rest of the world.

It may not be long before someone in another country offers the service to the US and the US tries to impose its laws in that other country and blocks the internet like China does. I wonder when the Americans will get tired of bragging about how "free" they are.
