Hello everyone,

One of my dance teachers just adopted 2 dogs from Thailand. She found out a week before they were due to arrive that one of them had sever hip dysplasia and would need both hips replaced. Rather than turning her back on a pup in need, she agreed to still take her in. However, the bill for the surgery is tremendous, so she came up with a brilliant way to raise money for her new fur baby.

Personalized key chains! They are double sided, with a different photo on each side, actually look much better in person! Details and photos are below. They make great gifts for any pet owner, proud parent or as a memorial gift for somebody who has just lost a beloved pet (just ask for the rainbow heart prism instead of a different stone).

So if anyone wants to help raise money for Moni, or knows anybody else who may, please pass this along.

What about a go fund me page or equivalent? I would much rather make a donation than purchase a key chain. Lots of dog lovers who would contribute.

I'm an animal lover, but it galls me when people adopt animals from third world countries.

Yes, the animals are usually living miserable lives, but adopting one or two does nothing to address the problems of over-population, abuse, starvation, disease and uncontrolled breeding.

Recognized charities in most countries, or international branches offer spaying and health care for street animals and pets.

Not to mention, our own shelters are full of needy animals.

The money spent on getting those two dogs here, plus medical care, would probably help 1000 dogs through a charity in Thailand, or WWF.

With due respect to your opinion, the dog is here and there is a call for support. Let's not detract from the intent of the post.

That is extremely generous of you! I'm sure she would be more than happy to take an e transfer to the email address listed on the poster. Alternatively, if you prefer to use a credit card, I would be happy to accept your contribution on her behalf through my company......or paypal if you prefer.

I will mention the go fund me option to her. Thank you so much for the suggestion!

In response to CT, you have some very valid points. However, none of the dogs locally in need were a good match for her young children. We have done a really good job of reducing our dog overpopulation issues, and sometimes people have to look elsewhere for specific breeds or temperments.

Would you mind messaging me details regarding C card and P pal payments?

In Your Wildest Dreams!
Many of you who have known me for some time will recall that I had to have my Chief of Security and Walkies, Willie, put down last February 28. He had a hell of a run for a big guy: he was 16. The fat lazy cat is absolutely useless at the job, but he is handsome. I will be contacting you while I am downtown this weekend Angel, because I am a sucker for a good pet cause...

Thank you to PierreCoeur who went out of his way to make a generous donation! Very much appreciated!
I have been a member of this review board for a few years now and have observed Service Providers and Service Consumers and have gotten to know many from the way they interact with others and have a sense of who they really are.

You are by nature of your communications at this forum, a true Angel who cares about others. I have observed that you have in the past few years promoted many charitable causes that are dear to your heart and you have demonstrated compassion for others.

How could I not make a contribution to your call for the support of another soul and the dog that person rescued and loves?

I would like to give a shout out to Uncleg (whom I have never met) but who has kindly and generously contributed to the Moni fund just to help out. Thank you!

What Pierre said....besides I have a locally rescued fur baby of my own, though for the life of me I can't see how anybody would consider him a baby.

OMG your dog looks like me when they tell me they can't do something. I would like everyone to consider making a contribution to Angel's cause. Don't make me look like Uncleg's dog!

Do people cross to the other side of the street when they see you coming with that thing?

My neighbour has a dog who kind of looks like that. He isn't in the least vicious, but he sure intimidates people who don't know him.

Some do, usually if they are walking a dog of their own they want to keep, but you'd be surprise as to how many people ask to pet him and think that he's just beautiful. Most people he's good with, some just set him off...something I still have to work on..he's not as bad as he was. Away from the property and home he's everybody's buddy.

I'm sure some people cross the street when they see you walking towards them....but if they gave you the chance, they'd realize they could have missed out on a good friend.....unless of course they decide to target your home.
Then they may realize.....they should have crossed the street, and picked on someone else.

You two have an awful lot in common my friend.

Your right....we are NOT ready for that......
Now if a few ladies would consider it.....That would be different altogether.
