The said show with new guy Ashton still has some of the best writers in television. Complemented by the BUZZ the show got the past few months, the new season will still come up with Hawaii Five-O numbers. Ashton will never come close to a Charlie Sheen but he has a pretty solid fan base, more than 6 million in Twitter. He was cool and funny in that " No Strings Attached " movie with cutie Natalie Portman. Looking forward to the new season. :) :)

I just hope they write him into the show and don't try to make Ashton the new Charlie. There haven't been many successful replacements in the past, but it might work on this one. Still not sure about Ashton though. lol

WTF is Ashton going to do? Stand around and shout "Burn!" every once in a while? He hasn't done anything since "Punk'd" like 5 years ago.

I seldom find Ashton funny.

Having said that, I've always thought it's Jon Cryer who is really bringing a lot to the show, so the show should still be good for a few more season.

Charlie is just a one of a kind nut ball, who is a talented actor. He cracks me up on screne, and he cracks me up off screne when i read about him in the the trash. Mags. Ashton is no actor compared to good old charlie

I'm surprised they got rid of Sheen. You would have thought that with all the free publicity viewership would go through the roof. I just can't see Kutcher pulling in that sort of audience, especially since the show is starting to age anyway.

Anyone else see it?
I wasn't too impressed, charlie killed by a train in France, Rose pushing him.
Ashton's character seems to be pretty weak.

I found tonight season premier rather disappointing. The show will end soon

Hmm, call me crazy, but I enjoyed it. It is still too soon to see if it fades off, but I will check into the next episode to see how things all sort out.

The funny parts had nothing to do with Ashton though. Most of his humour was forced IMO. They also had Alan carrying most of the show which won't work. Charlie was the star and Alan was along for the ride. There wasn't one part where I laughed at anything Ashton said or thought "this dudes good".

It's too bad Charlie was such a f*ck up....that was a great show.

Bring back The King of Queens
I didn't watch it...but I am not surprised that Ashton sucks ass! I wouldn't hire that guy for $9 an hour gig, let alone 900,000k for doing next to nothing...

Probably not with a record-breaking 27.8 Million viewers, the most in the shows history which included Sheen. For that number, they did get Ashton at a discount at 900k per show.

Good bold move by CBS. I like the show, seems funny to me. The shows writers are such rockstars. Looking forward to watching it for sometime. :thumb:

The ratings were so high because it's the most talked about episode ever. How will they kill off Charlie Sheen's character. After all the drama that happened, people wanted to see how the show will kill him. Beyond that, the show will not last much longer. Ashton is funny, but he's always been funnier as a supporting cast member.

In That's 70 show, he was funny, but like Joey funny. Good as a supporting character, terrible as a lead. This show will fail.

I was surprised at the number of recognizable actors and actresses that were in the episode.unny, but he's always been funnier as a supporting cast member.

So true and thanks largely to Sheen. Comfort level numbers would be back to Sheen's time of about 10.6 Million to 12 Million viewers per show. If it stays high, then good for CBS and the shareholders of its parent company.

It was a pretty good show with all of his ex's there.

However the badboy element so far is no longer there.

Yes Jake, had a pretty weak episode as well. A single joke at the funeral, and a fart later in the show.

Next week he will be living on campus, and never back on the show......what was the Latin American college Alan went too?
