The National Post has printed an editorial opinion today by Art Hanger, who is the Conservative Member of Parliament from Calgary on the subcommittee that is considering changes to Canada's prostitution laws.

What I have been exposed to at hearings across Canada defies imagination. A stacked panel of witnesses, comprised largely of prostitutes and prostitution activists, speaks to a largely sympathetic committee on how "the sex trade" operates in a dangerous "workplace" and should be subject to the same health and safety regulations as any other occupation.

I agree Westwoody, but I'm afraid a lot of people are just going to vote to "throw out the crooks" and not consider that they're voting in a bunch of ass monkeys who are going to really wreak havoc. Someone like Hanger as Justice Minister. YIKES!!!

Reading that editorial, I was struck by the 'Bushisms' in Hanger's writing. I'm generally a left of center guy. Some might call me a 'liberal' or a socialist, but other than believing in universally affordable medical care and education, I'm open to more fiscally conservative ideas. Hell, I might even consider voting for a Joe Clark style Conservative party. What I could never do, however, is vote for those right wing, morally self-righteous, narrow minded clowns in the current Conservative party. They are basically the Reform party in disguise. I believe that were it not for this sponsorship scandal, they'd have a few more years to evolve and become a more electable, inclusive party. Unfortunately, they're going to get in due to this mess that the Liberals are now in. Hopefully they'll only manage a minority themselves and will be barred from going the way of Republicans down south when it comes to social issues. Here endeth my rant.

That wasn't the point to my rant. But thanks for pointing out the obvious. She spent millions of taxpayer dollars getting her hair done, storing expensive artwork that tax payers paid for and the list goes on. She didn't get caught, her dumb-ass husband didn't get caught, and if you look into some details you will find that Mulroney is the only former Prime Minister to use the 24/7 protection afforded him by our RCMP. Gee, I wonder why? Call her what you want. Call him what you want, but one thing is for sure...They sold us out and it still costing Canadian citizens.

Economic collapse? WTF? I'm sure it wouldn't make any more sense than the moral collapse, but at least he made an attempt to explain that part of it. Does anyone know what he's talking about? Does he think that once it becomes more officially legal, too many guys will be spending all their money on it?

Does Hanger think we're all so stupid that none of us can see that the other countries that have been through this already - Germany, Holland, etc., - have not suddenly turned into third world nations, or burned to the ground like Sodom and Gomorrah either?
