Are the stories told by SP's about themselve really true or are they just stories?

I visited 2 SPs so far and one told me she just finished her Bachelors in commerce at UBC and the other said she just completed her masters of something (can't remember) and she is planning on doing a Ph.D. A stripper at No. 5 also told me she just finished her Bachelors in education and is going into teaching (she would cause ALOT of trouble at her school if you know what I mean , that stripper was HOT! a solid 10!). Another stripper I talked to says she works at the hospital during the day. Based on my limited experience, it seems like alot girls in this industry seems to be very intelligent and have higher education. Now are these true storie or is this a tactic/strategy in gaining the respect and admiration of their patrons. Just curious. They all sounded convincing enough for me to believe them, or maybe I'm just naive.

Actually I know quite a few working girls have big dreams in life. I knew a very beautiful stripper a few years back while I visited New Orlean. She was already an owner of a coffee shop in day time. The reason why she stripped at night was saving up money to open another coffee shop!

In Vancouver I know at least 2 sps who have master degrees.

On the other hands nowadays there are not many young men who are university educated. So perhaps we should ask do young men have big dreams? According to statistics there are more girls enrolled in universities than boys!

Until/unless I know their real name, I wouldn't bet any money on what an SP/stripper tells me about their identity to be true. The ones I have known well enough to say I know them as people are lifers. They have other plans in life, as do the rest of us, and have about as much chance at changing careers mid-stream as anyone else does.

If you really care enough to find out, ask them to talk a little more about their other career or their education. I mean, don't grill them like a creepy stalker type, but if she is a university student, for example, you will not likely see her working during mid-term week or finals week. If she is in Education, she must have some crazy stories about being a student teacher. If she truly knows the subject, she should be able to carry on a conversation about it.

I know a SP who told me she was upgrading her high school (she's from overseas) and was planning on going to BCIT. Sure OK. Well she phones me and asks for help with one of her courses. I meet her in the computer lab at BCIT and spend a few hours helping her with her project. I also know off a SP who worked at a massage parlour and ended up owning one.
So yes it does happen.

SPs are just people... some are telling you the truth... some are full of shit. Some are intelligent... some are close to retarded. In the end, you can only evaluate somebody's truthfulness based on their individual characteristics. I think the high cost of education makes it quite likely that it is an option for an independent woman looking to pursue a lucrative career that gives her total flexibility in terms of working hours etc.

That's the high end... there are less attractive scenarios as well. In the end, go with what you like and try not to judge anybody that's just trying to get thru life without hurting anybody.

I'll ask you from a different point of view to have you think about this. If the SP is together, clean of addictions, etc, why wouldn't you expect her to be pursing a higher education? Tom, I don't mean to sound condescending but without even realizing it, you're automatically attaching a label to these women. SP = unlikely to get a higher education. That is a stereotype. Would you question it if I told you that as a business person I was pursuing a higher education? You wouldn't bat an eye at that comment, so why when an SP says it?

Excluding the addicts, etc, many of these women aren't any different than you and I, they just have the ability to have sex for money. In the grand scheme of things, that's not a big deal. Now if a SW tells you she's pursuing a career in medicine, I might raise an eyebrow. Thing is..if the SW did say that I'd be she says it because she hopes someday she can have that dream instead of the nightmare that is all around her.

I'm not being judgemental or labeling the SP's either. I'm just curious. In fact, in my original post, I mentioned that I believed them.
