I’m always interested in finding out how things work in this hobby—and I wonder how many SPs go through their list of happy clients and, periodically, call them on a slow day.
This month I received two surprise calls from the same SP, the first to wish me a Merry Xmas and the second a more direct invitation to see her. I imagine some SPs would on principle never do this: they don’t want to appear desperate for business, or they might be too considerate to want to bother a client.
Still, I must admit it worked with me: I’m a sucker for an initiative-taking woman (if she’s a hot lay). I could easily have said, “Sorry, sweetie, I’ve already made plans” or even “I can’t afford you for a while, but hey, thanks for thinking of me.”
But the thought that actually crossed my mind was, “She must be having a slow day—I guess my visit would be appreciated; and since she called, she might feel especially generous in lavishing her talents on me." Frankly, this lady’s phone call put me into an immediate pooning mood and gave me that extra nudge when my scattered loyalties would otherwise probably have kept me from seeing her.
Obviously, an SP has to use good judgment using this marketing technique: such calls have to be infrequent (I'd say no more than a few times a year); to guys deliriously happy with her service; and she obviously has to say just the right things in her sweetest, sexiest tone of voice...
