Are Independants really independant

In the wake of Misty's troubles a question was asked of me by another hobbyist, it seems that he found out recently that one of his favorite girls, who claims to be independant actually works for an agency, and it was bothering him...

The question I have for you, is ... Should it bother him?

I am not really sure about my answer, I guess it is a little bit deceptive to say your are independant when you work for an agency, but does it really affect me, probably not, it doesn't make any difference to how good you are at your job...does it?

The flip side of this is the situation that Misty was apparently in, at what point is an "Agency" a negative influence, at what point do they become a "Pimp"? I know that I gravitate towards Indy's, I do becuase I have the impression that their service is more personal and intimate, typically you are in their "home"

Anyways I just thought I would put this out there and see what the rest of you thought, SP's feel free to comment ...

And there you highlight the problem.

If you are seeing a girl who is TRUELY indy, then you and her are the ONLY ones who know what is happening, if she isn't talking to everyone about you.

If you are seeing a girl who is "managed" then there are other people who have whatever personal info you have given (name, phone number, whatever), and those are people you maybe have never met and you have NO way to know how stable they are and whether or not they will pull a stunt as seems to be the case of what happened with Misty.

There have been other cases in the past of agency phone girls going off and spreading around private information about clients on the boards and elsewhere.

There have also been cases where it has become known on the boards that girls at particular agencies sat around and discussed all sorts of client personal information, some of that information was then posted on the boards by SPs who the client had never seen.

Basically, if you value your privacy, then you might want to make sure that as few people as possible know the things that you want to keep private, and that you know who those people are. With agencies or managed girls, you do NOT have any knowledge or control over who gets your info.

If you don't really care about who gets your info, then it doesn't matter much.

I think it's deceptive. I don't really understand why bother lying about it. I mean, there's nothing wrong with agencies and there's nothing "better" about independents. They both have pros and cons and some clients prefer to see only independents, while others prefer to deal with agencies (and some just don't care lol) so why pretend? I honestly don't get it. But I think it's hugely deceiving and while I probably shouldn't care, I've never been able to help feeling like it's an insult to all the girls who are genuinely independent.


And for the guys, I think it's a HUGE breach in privacy to have your info and private communications be shared with others without your knowledge (or what seems most likely, actually never even be handled or read by the person they are intended for). I think for sure it's deceptive and dishonest.

Well, Luv 2 Lick, I didn't ask who he was referring to, it was more a general question posed to me about how I would feel.

As for the personal info, a few of the girls who have seen me know my real name and some of my details, if you are one of them, then we had a connection and I felt I could trust you ( However naive that sounds ), recently I have activcated a second phone and will try to be forever known as Johnny Guapo!, he is my inner pooner! I think we all have to be somewhat realistic and by nature people are curious, so there is always the risk that someone somewhere is keeping information about you.

BTW I am loving PERB, lots of great discussion, it is amusing at times, and a source of invaluable information for SP's and Pooners alike!

Yea, I know a bunch of girls who claim to be independent that only book apointments via email. Funny thing is that they all work out of the same condo and have similar ads and websites. I saw one girl and i straight up asked her if she was independent, she says yes and she lives in that particular suite. A little while later I saw a different girl in the EXACT same suite. I saw the girl that claimed she was indy sometime later outside of a sp/client session and she was lying and it was actually an agency. She is no longer with this agency.

It's fine dealing with said angency, it's just weird sometimes when you are emailing someone who poses as the girl that you are going to see. I think it would be good if they actually advertised as an agency so i know what girls are available that day as i like several girls affiliated with this group. This would be better than sifting through CL to see if the girls are working that day.

One more thing i'd like to point out is that i have seen several of this girls and have written reviews. The meidocre ones get deleted and the postive ones stay up. Hmmmm......

I'm so glad you posted this! I was not feeling well all weekend so I only say your text message on Monday. I haven't deleted it but I didn't know if it was okay to respond 2 days later so I didn't (I'm never sure about texts..).

But it's great that you're telling me now. Soooo... can I respond? lol
