@the Meat Market!!!lol
Hello all!!

Once again, I am reaching out for support...anything at will help....

We are making headway with the human rights complaints - I have received one settlement and 2 decisions so far - there is no financial compensation in systemic human rights cases.... I am going into conciliation with the RCMP in 2 cases next week and am headed to the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal against the banks and FINTRAC....

We are about to start a new project about Occupational Health and Safety in the sex industry with support from WorksafeBC but the funding will not come in time...

The project we did about housing exclusion has been invited to be presented to a housing conference in Montreal where more than 1500 housing providers, policy makers, etc will be in attendance...this is my primary problem...there are no scholarships to attend and present - so i have to pay for registration. flights and hotel in Montreal...all totaled - about $1500.00....

I don't have the money to go but need to find a way....this represents a big opportunity to try to address some of the day to day issues facing sex workers and deal with a long standing issue facing our community.

So if anyone can help me get there - a cash donation via e-transfer, air miles or points for hotel and flight....anything would be appreciated.

Thanks so much for your kind attention,

love susie

Hello Susie,

thanks for sharing this. however, i think it will be hard for you to get people on this forum to fund you if you don't incentivize them with anything. i am definitely in agreement with you on some of the things you are supporting but cannot give money to someone without knowing more about them. i would recommend you schedule video calls with people 1:1 and try to sell them on your campaign, as opposed to requesting money like this. i'm sure you can sell a few people on this.

i wouldn't personally give out my email like this though. i'm sure people would be thinking this is a scam.

all the best with your trip and campaign.

Not a bad point, except you are new here, are unaware of the history of this industry and how Susi fits into that history. Susi has been active in the industry for some time now. She was an active SP for many years and has always advocated for changes in the laws that affect this industry. She should not have to provide an incentive. She is legit, has helped make positive changes to the law, as well as helping many over the years.

i assure you that i looked at her profile and did some fact checking. but this doesn't mean someone can just appeal to everyone on a public forum and get payments. i would think that as a basic rule of thumb you need to sell someone on something, whether you're the most credible person in the world or whether nobody knows about you. in essence, this is not a great way to request payments, and i would think someone with a trained eye would be reluctant to pay in this case.

imo, reaching out to your supporters and asking them directly would've been a better path forward.

Actually, she can appeal to the members of Perb and has done so in the past. I’ve given to her appeals and support the work she does. The advocacy work she does indirectly affects all pooners positively as it creates safer conditions for SPs to practice their trade (and by default their clients) and she has been tireless in her efforts to decriminalize/legalize prostitution.

My eye is very “trained” and I have sent funds to her in the past and will do so in the future. I have suffered no ill consequences. She doesn’t send these request out often and when she does, I believe they’re legit.

Hi there,
I asked Fred Zed if I would be allowed to appeal for some funding support here from time to time and was granted "supporting status" to do so.

I have been a sex worker for 39 years, I saw one of my clients today.

I have worked as an advocate for sex workers, clients and the industry generally since 2002.

I have authored reports, appeared before government and made submissions to numerous committees. I gave evidence to the Public Inquiry into the case of the Missing Women...

I have supported numerous clients during tough times through the years as well as sex workers.

I provide direct frontline support during times of crisis and also work to improve every ones safety. I was part of the work with police to establish the lowest level of enforcement policy which protects us all from blanket enforcement actions for example...now adopted by all 45 police services and the e-div of the rcmp across BC....

We have recently met with both the Attorney General and the Solicitor General to discuss modernization of the BC Prosecution service charge assessment guidelines, removal of ancient criminal records for sex workers and barriers to victims services....

none of that work was funded....

I do apply for grants but as you can imagine, sex workers funding is last in line and first to get cut....not to mention that the kind of advocacy I do is difficult to fund via government supports...

The City of Vancouver pay me $10,000 a year....to work on this every single day....

Thank you for your questions and if anyone else would like to know more about what i do , please feel free to ask.

The funding I am appealing for is to further the goals of realizing housing rights for sex workers.....a commitment I made to people who took part and shared their experiences with housing discrimination...

I need to get to Montreal to a conference so I can present our work and try to influence the changes we need to address housing exclusion.

As I said before, if people have air miles points or anything to contribute, all is appreciated.

love susie

You’ve been a member for two months and you take a cheap shot at very well respected member who is trying to improve things for everyone in the industry? You really should do research before you make such a ridiculous post, now you can enjoy three months in perbatory to contemplate you questionable future at PERB.

I should add, along with my witty zinger I also sent a donation. Susie has done enormous work for the people we punters like visiting. She’s helped make their lives better by removing legal barriers that were set up to marginalize sex workers. So please consider giving a donation.
