saw it yesterday. completely breathtaking.

if you can, see it early in the day. the movie is 2.5 hours long and in 3D. if you've been working all day you'll find your eyes get kind of sore, and water a bit.

as far as the movie goes...i honestly didn't think james cameron could redeem himself for that steaming pile of crap that was titanic. but he does. he really does.

I should have waited to see it in imax. Stands right up there with moon, district 9 and star trek. awesome year for sci-fi.

wow...just got back from the show

I really enjoyed it....Cameron has created a whole new world (although a bit has been borrowed from the undersea world)......

The scenery is amazing....there are some amazing imaginations at work here...

no problem with the 3D

I didn't have any issues with the 3D...it's not like it was a constant bombardment of bats or dragons coming in your direction.....more of an increase in visual ambience....

Awesome scenery and effects. Ridiculous storyline. Worth seeing on the big screen, but if you aren't a total sci-fi/fantasy fan, you will likely be annoyed at how stupid the story is. But, see it for the scenery.

I just saw it and it was a good movie for sure but I didn't think it was the end all of movies like its being hyped.

Basically its about blue indians :p

The special effects were definitely great, You know your in a new era when you can't tell whats real and what computer generated.

Kudos to Hollywood visionary and trend setter James Cameron. The studios at first were hesitant in investing in a 3D movie but James Cameron believed in his work and was quite persistent in convincing them about Avatar. Now, they are reaping the fruits of their investment and maybe a bunch of Oscars to follow. Not a big fan of 3D but Avatar was truly worth the exception. :)

I saw it xmas day in 3D.

Absolutely loved it! The theatre was full so my son and I had to settle for front row seats.

Truly stunning visually!

To anyone who has older children,
The one thing I thought of afterwards is that it reminded me a lot of a cartoon movie from back in the 80's called Fern Gully. If anyone remembers that, I thought it was very very similiar but without the gooey bad guy.

Great Flick. It has set a new bar for me. Can see what people were saying that it is essentially the story of pocahonas. Outstanding visuals.

You're right, but the movie is so well executed that it thoroughly transcends its simple little treehugger plot (Indians good, mining companies bad).

It's a great movie that temporarily made me forget what a lazy retarded shit-factory hollywood is nowadays.
