I have to pause for thought when an SP or anybody for that matter, asks for a recent STD test. STD test results are not worth the paper they are written on. The ONLY time that an STD test is valid is at the exact moment the needle was stuck in your arm to draw blood. As soon as you leave the clinic, unless you are going directly to living in a BUBBLE, without any contact, sexual or otherwise, with another human being, then the results are bogus.
Am I wrong, can somebody else explain to me how an STD test can be valid 1, 2, 3, 4 days, weeks, months past the time of the sample, if you have had any human interaction since that day? I think that those requiring RECENT STD TESTING are fooling themselves into a false sense of security.

It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing. At least you know someone (most likely) hasn't picked up any STIs prior to their last test. But it is possible, sure. So you do what you think is best, and everyone else can make their own choices, right?

Asking civvies to show test results to do CIM is not a bad idea--lots of people run around with STIs they didn't know they had. Most of the SPs I talk to get tested every three week to every two months. Most civilians haven't been tested in years.

It's not that you're cleared the day you draw blood. The test means that three to six months ago, you didn't have any STIs in your system. There's an incubation period for most of the really fun STIs which means that you need to get tested regularly and still play safe.

reasons why I require testing for CIM:
1. it helps me figure out how willing that person is to adhere to my safety protocols/suss out their personality a bit better
2. it encourages pooners to get tested
3. it gets people thinking about STDs
4. it weeds out people who already know they have an STD
5. it is better than nothing and I do love gobbling a load
